OP, I went back and forth between it and the Inkwell Press and finally ordered one from personal-planner.com. I can't justify $75 plus $20 shipping, a huuuge amount in £GBP.

I got a square one. You can add in all important date, plus addresses and tel nos too.

ECLP looks so nice but I think it ia far too dear and the pp is much more functional.

So today's version of a filofax? I keep all that stuff on my phone these days.

I love to be organised but unless the interior pages are really something special in terms of layout, I think its just really OTT I'm afraid. Especially if you have to throw it out after 18 months unlike a filofax binder. I wouldn't spend this much on this product for that reason alone.

And the rose gold gilding is a shocking and obscene waste of resources IMHO. You'd have to recycle the front page to recover the metal!!!

You could always get a cheaper diary/ filofax and cover it in a sample of your choice of wallpaper or fabric if it is just the 'look' you are after. All of the customisation could be done pretty simply at home. Coloured stickers are pretty cheap!

Anyway, they look OK but a few years ago I discovered the Palgrave Student Planner and I it really ticks the stationery lust boxes for me. Maybe not as pretty but very, very useful. It's an academic year and meant for students but I find it perfect for work.

Oh the stickers are completely unnecessary. But in terms of a diary where you have enough space, or even where there is designated space, for everything you might need to get your family where it needs to go, the only comparable UK company is organised-mum.co.uk. The TOAD diaries are also fairly comprehensive but not as attractive.

I don't have my own business, but I do use a planner extensively to at least make an attempt to organise my life. I don't think it's going to help me organise myself better than the one I've bought before at half the price, however it is in fact a lot sturdier.

it's not my husband's business what I spend my money on, however all our money is joint and I do feel he has a say on some items where I know for a fact there is a 'value' option much cheaper elsewhere but it's not as appealing. I am back at work after being a SAHM for nearly four years, it does feel a bit like when I got my first job back in the day.

I have much love for Roterfaden/Midori style planners, I like the flexibility.

I reckon it might be a one off just this year and then I'll go back to being very practical and reasonable and go with a more normal feel.

I feel like throwing caution to the wind, though not throwing it so far as to splash out on gold foil lettering, I haven't yet drunk that much wine tonight. I saw a video where the owner said they spray actual gold on the coil thingy that holds it together. Now that I really can't get my head around!

I lived with a Filofax for 20 years and had it tailored exactly to my work, family and personal needs. My whole life was in that wad of paper (pocket sized week to 2 page diary, black calf leather with full zip around).

However, in January this year I made a conscious decision to stop and use just my phone. The problem was interfacing with other people, synching appointments on a common schedule and keeping up with constant changes. Modern life was not compatible with my system.

I was at sea for about three months but realised that although paper is lovely to have, you're just creating more work for yourself because you have to be accessible to modern office tools.

Why not use a cheaper system in your new job until you see how much you would use it? January is only 6 months away!

I think it looks a bit of an gimmick compared to a plainer one that would do the job (i just use a notebook they gave out as a corporate freebie a few years ago), but ...... Something that lasts 18 months for $50? Thats about 10p per day. Its hardly a massive indulgence.

Sorry - that should be 6p sterling per day as its in USD. So hardly a bank breaker.
