Why? Who? Just who thinks it's a good idea? She's just a terrible presenter/interviewer.

I can't believe no-one's mentioned how she announced the 9/11 attacks as "if you're just joining us, the entire eastern seaboard of the United States has been decimated by a terrorist attack".

Shock Dinah

Am just watching the sky news coverage of the Paris terrorist attack and yet again i am astounded Kay Burley is still employed by Sky. I thought their coverage was pretty good up until the time she arrived in Paris. Her gleeful manner and insincere and mawkish questioning really does them no favours.

She's getting a bit of attention for this.

The woman is an absolute twat though. Grin

Bubblychocolate · 15/11/2015 15:59

I saw her yesterday on the news interviewing people in the queue to give blood in Paris.

Her first question to this man was 'why are you giving blood today?'.

Really?!

FreeWorker1 · 15/11/2015 16:17

I think Sky go totally over the top in a situation like the Paris attack.

There is a sort of switch pulled somewhere called 'Rolling News format' and then the schedule is diverted into a sort of blltz of repeated interviews, quotes from 'sources', and 'Breaking News' tags scrolling across the bottom of the screen that actually add nothing to our knowledge and become disjointed as well as disconnected from what is actually happening on the ground.

Watching the events unfold on Sky in real time I found myself reading MN and variety of other trusted blogs as they were much more insightful and useful.

Right now I have Sky on with random interviews from people in Paris that is just background noise. I have learned nothing from it all day. Problem is they have to fill the screen with something once they get into the 'Rolling News format'. The reality is the news just doesn't evolve that quickly.

Now I am watching Madonna giving a speech about the events.

Really? Is that news?

Sparklingbrook · 15/11/2015 16:23

That dog picture just proves how bonkers she must be. Rolling news is just crap really.

This was amusing

BeckerLleytonNever · 15/11/2015 16:41

Its bloody fucking awful whats happened, and I see kay burley ablsolutley loving being there like its an 'event' rather than a tragedy, loves the camera, asking questions to people and then talking all over their answers, almost smiling with glee at being part of it all.

cant stand the woman.

ihatethecold · 15/11/2015 16:58

Blackbird

That link is just brilliant!
