www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-33063397 in jail again for the same thing - it must be obvious to the authorities that there is a MH issue, but seems there is nothing they can/want to do. It's not like he is Russell Brand and does it for the attention!

On his first TV programme where he walked the length of Britain (with his then GF) naked he seemed fairly sane but the GF realised getting chased by the public or arrested was not worth the cause - but he cannot see this. Subsequent programmes did suggest MH issues - does he just yo-yo in and out of jail for the rest of his life?

We have certain social norms. Frankly this seems like exhibitionism

Sallyingforth · 09/06/2015 21:27

It's legal to be naked on a public beach Sallyingforth?

YES!

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 09/06/2015 21:38

I'm far more offended by the costs of putting him through the legal system than his nakedness, which I feel very meh about.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 09/06/2015 21:41

Someone mentioned him walking past a school...I wonder what the children who saw him thought?

FuckingLiability · 09/06/2015 21:46

If only there was some way of working out how much it has cost the taxpayer to keep arresting and imprisoning him versus a financial cost of the offence people have felt at the thought of a naked man just walking around not being a threat.

TalkinPeace · 09/06/2015 22:05

The people of Eastleigh are heartily sick of him and wish he'd just put up and shut up
the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of pounds of taxpayers money wasted on his court appearances and arrests and jailing would be MUCH better spent on the other residents of the borough.

Shallishanti · 09/06/2015 22:06

what a fuss about nothing
he may well have treated his wife/family badly but that's not why he gets arrested is it so hardly relevant
dcs will always be seeing things they don't understand or find surprising, that's life
personally I don't like seeing people with massive tattoos but if that's what they want to do, none of my business. I agree with the poster who said it just shows what a daft law it is.....which I guess is his point.

Sunny67 · 09/06/2015 22:07

Wonder if people would feel any different if he wore a posing pouch? I'm thinking elephant or something similar Grin

machair · 09/06/2015 22:10

Maybe he could wear a kilt? that way, he would still get the breeze

FuckingLiability · 09/06/2015 22:24

I reckon a codpiece.

I literally could not give two tiny shits if some dude wants to roam around naked. He's not standing wanking outside schools, he's not catcalling random women from a van and he's not groping teenagers on the bus.

Yet he has spent more time in prison than your average sex offender:

KentonArcher · 09/06/2015 22:49

I probably didn't choose the right words and of course I don't think my children will grow up not seeing a penis (their father regularly wanders around the house naked). As other more eloquent posters have pointed out, there are laws against public nudity and I don't think he should be parading around the place oblivious to the fact that he may be causing offence or disturbing children. As a young girl, with a lone (female) parent, I remember being truly shocked at my first glimpse of a fully grown penis, courtesy of a flasher. Same thing.

Sallyingforth · 09/06/2015 23:09

As other more eloquent posters have pointed out, there are laws against public nudity

No, Kenton there are no such laws.

Under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 it is not an offence to be naked in public in England and Wales. It becomes an offence if it can be proved the person stripped off with the intention to cause distress, alarm or outrage.

KentonArcher · 09/06/2015 23:13

Well! I didn't know that! Thanks Sallying.

KentonArcher · 09/06/2015 23:14

I do think that's why he does it though.

Gilrack · 09/06/2015 23:14

Ah, Kenton, parading around. That thing people only do when naked within sight of Mumsnetters who's rather not see them! Usually in single-sex changing rooms, but of course it can also be done by slightly irritating chaps outdoors.

When did you last refer to anyone "parading around clothed"?

KentonArcher · 09/06/2015 23:15

Who cares? Why can't parading around be a term used only to refer to when one is naked?

Gilrack · 09/06/2015 23:16

You think what's why he does it though? His motive is being oblivious to the fact that he may be causing offence or disturbing children? Confused

I imagine he does do it to be annoying, actually. Being annoying is no more a crime than being naked in public.

Gilrack · 09/06/2015 23:19

Why can't parading around be a term used only to refer to when one is naked?

Because it's daft Grin It implies that all naked people adopt a stance similar to a carnival queen on her victory tour, or perhaps a platoon of soldiers marching in sync.

Pumpkinpositive · 09/06/2015 23:20

I read an article written by his ex wife. His actions have been extremely damaging to his children.

Hardly surprising. It must be peachy to know that your father would rather spend his life in prison than put on a pair of shorts and spent his life with you.

That said, I agree that there are probably underlying issues.

KentonArcher · 09/06/2015 23:23

I think he does it to cause outrage and yes, to be annoying. He doesn't think that to some he may cause offence or be disturbing to young children. Whether it's a crime or not, I didn't want my children coming across him.

KentonArcher · 09/06/2015 23:29

Sorry Gilrack can't quote you on the tablet but yes actually that would be quite funny Smile. Some people do like to flaunt their nakedness though - again, thinking of DP and both sons parading around after a shower Grin

Hoppityhippityhop · 09/06/2015 23:32

The naked rambler knows that many people are distressed, alarmed or outraged by the exposure of his genitals in a public place.

I think there is a hair's breadth between his certain knowledge that exposing himself causes distress, alarm or outrage and an intention to cause the same.

Icimoi · 09/06/2015 23:32

I don't care whether it's just the human body, or just skin, I would not want to see his genitalia in the street or in a field.

But it's not about what people do or do not want to see, is it? I don't want to see some people's faces Nigel Farage but I don't really have the choice.

Hoppityhippityhop · 09/06/2015 23:37

Yes it is if people are distressed, alarmed or outraged. And I would be.
