Mum in the park drinking squash from baby's bottle

Takes all sorts I guess but a woman has just sat down with a child in a buggy and a toddler scooting around. She's drinking from her baby's bottle. Is this a bit yuk or is it the latest thing? Is it replacing cocktails in jars? I couldn't grasp that either!

she's thirsty and that's all she has with her, what on earth is the problem?? Confused

SantanaLopez · 06/06/2015 15:26

Or maybe she just forgot a drink for herself? Live and let live!

PureMorning · 06/06/2015 15:26

Or just a wee bit thirsty and without a drink of her own?

TheImprobableGirl · 06/06/2015 15:26

I've done this if Im super thirsty.... Squash is squash!

findingmyfeet12 · 06/06/2015 15:27

I've never seen that before. It would strike me as a bit odd.

Maybe she feels ill and desperately needs a drink and doesn't have anything else with her.

TheImprobableGirl · 06/06/2015 15:27

And the baby drinks my squash so she should bloody share!

luckiestgirlintheworld · 06/06/2015 15:27

Eh? She probably just didn't have a drink of her own so had a sip of her baby's. I don't think she's doing it as a fashion statement.

CatherineOfAbdomen · 06/06/2015 15:27

Perhaps she was thirsty Hmm

bobajob · 06/06/2015 15:27

I've drunk from the kids cups if I'm thirsty and forgot mine.

QuiteLikely5 · 06/06/2015 15:28

Does it matter?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 06/06/2015 15:28

The things people get indignant over. Grin

Getthewonderwebout · 06/06/2015 15:29

Ok well clearly I'm in the minority, but I think it looks odd and a bit gross actually. Not hard if bringing out a bottle for your child to stick a bottle under the tap, surely?

IT IS THE END OF DAYS.

Or not Wink

Getthewonderwebout · 06/06/2015 15:29

Most things on AIBU don't 'matter' though do they?

'Mum is thirsty shocker'. Can just see the headline.yabu.

gamerchick · 06/06/2015 15:30

Mammy tax. Wink

PHANTOMnamechanger · 06/06/2015 15:31

OP, do you realise this is a non event? someone had a drink, you have never considered drinking from a babys bottle or are super organised and always have your own drink with you too but big deal. A drink is a drink when you are thirsty. There really is no need to make it sound like a thread proclaiming "mum in park putting vodka in her babys bottle"

WellErrr · 06/06/2015 15:31

Blimey.

I can see the headlines now -
'Mother and own child in drink receptacle sharing horror' complete with DM Sad Face.

findingmyfeet12 · 06/06/2015 15:31

I think it would look odd too.

It's easy to forget to take a drink though - with or without having two young kids to worry about. I'm forgetful about things like that and needs must...

cardibach · 06/06/2015 15:32

Not hard, Getthe, no. Just possible to forget, surely! It would not suit me, I can't even do those sports tops - the drink doesn't come quickly enough. It's not odd though, really, is it?

Getthewonderwebout · 06/06/2015 15:33

Dear God, an awful amount of snappiness. I wasn't suggesting she should have her children removed. It was a mere observation and I asked if normal.

OP posts:
SquigglyLine · 06/06/2015 15:33

Hahahahahah
I have sometimes drunk from one of my kids' drinks. They have sometimes drunk from mine. In fact, the whole family will sometimes drink from the same bottle, if we're travelling light, rather than carrying 5 separate drinks bottles. Hope you survive the experience if you spot us!

WellErrr · 06/06/2015 15:33

I hate these judgey threads.

Makes me wonder how many threads have been started about me...

hiddenhome · 06/06/2015 15:33

It's better than having to see her breastfeeding I suppose. Imagine if she'd done that? Shock

These mothers, lousy scruffs the lot of 'em.

WellErrr · 06/06/2015 15:34

It was a mere observation and I asked if normal.

Well I think you've had your answer.
