Is it wrong that we were disgusted by this?

I fully expect to be shot down in flames...

Myself and my wife were walking to the bus stop this morning, ahead of us down the street a mother and her young girl in a pushchair exited a house and walked in the same direction before disappearing round the corner. As we turned the corner we saw the girl standing at the bus stop with her mum, the girl was standing with her trousers and nappy down and was weeing all over the pavement. The mum clocked us and as the girl finished very hurriedly dressed the girl before putting her back in the pushchair and walking off.

I know that when a kid needs to go it's pretty urgent but this was a busy path was alongside a busy main road and they'd only left the house three minutes ago. My wife works in childcare and even she couldn't believe it, is this acceptable or should we have said something?

I opened my front door one day to see a little girl with her knickers down about to wee, fully encouraged by her mother. I offered them the use of my loo, but she refused it. She was quite put out when I asked her not to let her daughter piss on my coconut doormat. Apparently they chose it because it is sheltered and it was raining.

Now that was disgusting.

dashoflime · 06/06/2015 13:13

Cattheifkeith I once chucked out a commode only to find a passerby taking a dump in it, right outside my house, in broad daylight. He had a huge go at me when I pulled him up on it as well. He looked like he was on drugs.

QuintShhhhhh · 06/06/2015 13:15

Yes, I do wonder if your wife is not in the wrong job.

TeresaGuidice · 06/06/2015 13:15

Ffs yes coconut doormat wins it
ShockShock

QuintShhhhhh · 06/06/2015 13:16

He must have been so relieved to find a commode there just like that.

I can only assume you have never been responsible for a child in the throes of/newly toilet trained. Surprised at you wife being so shocked though if she works in child care.

WayneRooneysHair · 06/06/2015 13:21

She's been doing it for ten years, I think if she was in the wrong job by now she'd know.

If it was my DD I'd tell her to wee in her nappy rather then the street

Rosieliveson · 06/06/2015 13:25

Well, a little girl having a wee wee wouldn't bother me. I'd assume it wasn't just for fun but a needs must situation. Maybe the were planning to get the bus and didn't want to miss it but on seeing you were headed for the stop decided to walk on and get the next or to avoid disgusted looks on the bus journey.

treaclesoda · 06/06/2015 13:25

I'm actually with the OP on this one, I'd think it was pretty horrible too. Holding a potty training child over the drain, or going in behind a tree or something I can understand, but on the pavement? Ewww. I can't understand why it's ok for dogs to pee on the pavement either. If it's somewhere that it drains away, or into the ground it makes a lot more sense to me.

I also have never understood the thing about small children needing the loo within seconds. I know they can't wait half an hour, but unless they have a specific issue or need, I've never known them, even at potty training stage, to be unable to hold on for a minute or two until you could get them somewhere more appropriate.

WayneRooneysHair · 06/06/2015 13:26

Nope, as we drove past them they were going into the park.

You still haven't answered my question of just what the fuck you would have actually have said to her had you had the nerve.

cerealqueen · 06/06/2015 13:27

Grown men piss in the street all the time. I would say she had a pull up on and is potty training. Get over yourself.

treaclesoda · 06/06/2015 13:27

Having said that, I wouldn't be giving dirty looks or making snotty comments.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/06/2015 13:28

That is the most shocking thing I have ever heard.

Not.

WayneRooneysHair · 06/06/2015 13:28

StillStayingClassySanDiego you are being rude.

I'd ask why couldn't she have gone at home or behind the bushes, simple really.

But OP how can you be walking to the bus stop in your original post as well as driving past them in the car later on the thread?

Did you walk to the bus stop, decide you had gone far enough then return home & drive to your destination?

(& you wonder why people disbelieve you)

Petitgrain · 06/06/2015 13:30

Why do you care about it though? Genuine question.

WayneRooneysHair · 06/06/2015 13:30

We drove by on the bus. not difficult to understand.

OP posts:
midnightvelvet01 · 06/06/2015 13:32

Well you didn't drive by on the bus, unless you were driving it but I see what you mean.

BertPuttocks · 06/06/2015 13:33

Grown men can't seem to control their bladders on nights out despite being surrounded by pubs with suitable toilets. I have far more sympathy for a small child who can't manage to make it more than a few feet away from a toilet so YABU.

TheFairyCaravan · 06/06/2015 13:34

Drip. Drip. Drip. Drip. Drip. Drip. Drip.

midnightvelvet01 · 06/06/2015 13:35

Are you doing an impression of the little girl Fairy Grin Grin

WayneRooneysHair · 06/06/2015 13:36

Can you blame me for drip feeding when people are questioning even the words I use?
