To think this image is not acceptable?

A page came up on my FB newsfeed for a fitness company doing a 30 day squat programme. I was Shock when I saw the photo being used to advertise it - normally you'd expect some muscly type in Lycra but this was a naked rear view of a woman that focuses on her bum and between her legs.

I reported it to FB and was told it doesn't violate their standards. AIBU to think it's completely unacceptable for them to use an image like this and for FB to say it's fine?

It doesn't offend me but what I find unacceptable is Facebook allowing images like that but removing ones of breast-feeding mothers or cancer suffers/survivors scars.

lomega · 28/05/2015 19:35

Totally agree with TheCatsMother. If images like that are allowed I don't see why images of breastfeeding etc aren't allowed. What's good for the goose is good for the gander......

Exactly what I thought, TheCatsMother.

She's got a nice bum though.

BlueBananas · 28/05/2015 19:37

Day 1 - 50 squats?! Day 1!!?!
I could maybe do 10 on day 1, 50 squats would be like day 20 to me
misses point of thread

AnyoneForTennis · 28/05/2015 19:38

It's advertising a programme ... That's the results

Don't really see anything wrong either

Klayden · 28/05/2015 19:39

YABU, nothing wrong with it. I also agree that not allowing breastfeeding pictures is hypocritical and shitty of FB.

TheoriginalLEM · 28/05/2015 19:41

Where do i sign? Wink

HappenstanceMarmite · 28/05/2015 19:43

She's got a nice bum though.

I thought so too UncertainSmile

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 28/05/2015 19:47

That's not the results for meAngry

They should be done for false advertising, I could squat all day, every day and my arse wouldn't look like that wouldn't get much done either Grin

I think it's unnecessary. I think it's horrid.

LadyCuntingtonThe3rd · 28/05/2015 19:50

If many people would report it, they would remove the picture.
I think that if fb removes breastfeeding photos saying it's nudity, then this picture should be removed as well.

Guiltismymaster · 28/05/2015 19:52

But why is she naked?
I cant imagine a man's naked behind being on the poster if it were aimed at men... waits for someone to inevitably prove me wrong

AnyoneForTennis · 28/05/2015 19:53

Doesn't say you'll look like that, obviously we are all different and they have no control over what you eat to sabotage the squats... Just says tighter bum/thighs

MixedMessages · 28/05/2015 19:55

I object to the inequity. I reported a picture recently which was certainly offensive but Facebook said there was no breach of standards.

YsabellStoHelit · 28/05/2015 22:13

Fb are awful. I reported some sites ages back thst had a v similar name to a big page but were full of naked teens.. fb told me "doesnt violate standards" One reason I dont use fb anymore

QueenBean · 28/05/2015 22:16

Guiltis she's not naked - she's wearing a thong, you can see it if you look between her legs

hiddenhome · 28/05/2015 22:18

Actually, I think her bum looks quite big and she needs to do a few more squats and cut down on the biscuits.

Faceache are huge hypocrites though. What do you expect?

AntiHop · 29/05/2015 01:10

Yanbu. That is a very objectifying image. It looks like something you'd expect to see in a porn film. The woman is being portrayed just as a sexualised body part and completely dehumanised.

GymBum · 29/05/2015 07:13

The thing that annoys me is the fact they should know you won't get those results in 30 days by doing one type of squat! Angry. Depending on where you start you it's unlikely you would get those results in 30 days doing all sorts of stuff. Giving people unrealistic expectations.

SillyStuffBiting · 29/05/2015 07:15

I can't even squat properly

gofuckyourself · 29/05/2015 08:23

Haha @ faceache
"Faceache" is bloody awful and I used it from the beginning before anyone else I knew did but closed my account after they allowed pictures of tortured pets to be circulated amoungst other disgusting images.

SoupDragon · 29/05/2015 08:29

she's not naked - she's wearing a thong, you can see it if you look between her legs

I'm not sure that having a piece of string between your bum cheeks makes a whole lot of difference from a nudity point of view.

I did wonder whether the equivalent male bottom would be shown in all its naked hairy glory but for a piece of string between the cheeks. I suspect not.

LadyNym · 29/05/2015 08:35

YANBU. I'm not that fussed by nudity but in the wider context of Facebook and our society (the objectification of women and the way this photo is shot, the fact Facebook remove photos of breastfeeding mums/cancer survivors etc.) this image is inappropriate.

penisland · 29/05/2015 08:37

Looks good to me!

kali110 · 29/05/2015 08:41

Don't think i'd get past day 1!
