Has anyone else seen it in This Morning?

Two mothers talking about their Blinged up children/babies and explaining how their children wear designer clothes, have fake tans, wear perfume and prefer to have handbags and shoes over toys.

Apparently it's a waste of a girl not to dress her up Shock

The full documentary is on TV tonight and although part of me wants to watch it the other part of me can't bear the thought of seeing young babies and young girls being dressed and treated like the mother's fashion accessory Sad

The earring scene! Sad really upset me! Little frankie just wants to play in leggings and trainers, poor kid! I too am currently using my judgy pants as a hat.

TessBrookes · 20/05/2015 02:05

They dropped the Ben Needham story to show that

Completely with you on that one. Says a lot about society that they know they're going to get a load more traffic from bimbo airheads tuning in to see fluffy little blinged up babies with no choice in the matter that they're being paraded and they've got a great big feck off bow sat on their non existent hairs. Sad
Even if not a bling fan, it still gets people talking online whether yay or nay views.
Why did Kerry Needham get ditched at the last minute? Apparently she's going to be on tomorrow morning instead (I hope so)

Signlake · 20/05/2015 08:54

The earring scene really bothered me too, it was the worst thing in the show I think. Poor mites ears were bright red. Not to mention that the shop assistant told the stupid woman that they were too big and there was smaller versions available. But no, I'll just cause my child pain and discomfort so that she can look the way I want her to. I strongly believe that there should be an age restriction on piercing, it's just so unfair on the children and completely unnecessary!

All of the children in this show were treated as possessions. Something just there to look nice for the mothers. It is completely wrong and imo abusive. It made me very angry watching

Signlake · 20/05/2015 08:56

Also OP you hit the nail on the head when you said the children are treated just like the mothers fashion accessory. Absolutely appalling

donemekmelarf · 20/05/2015 10:15

Those poor children look so unhappy.

The mothers obviously have major issues.

donemekmelarf · 20/05/2015 10:21

The 10 year old that was coerced into having her belly button pierced by the man's girlfriend was the worst part of this programme. It was wrong on so many levels.
Her dad didn't mind her having it done and the person who they phone for permission didn't seem to mind! Shock
And the baby being forced to wear earings that were obvioiusly too heavy for her poor little ears makes me angry beyond belief.
I also feel angry with the program makers for encouraging these people, who obviously have major issues of some sort which is leading them to abuse their children in this way.
Yes you read that right. This behavior is bordering on abuse, imo.

Bambambini · 20/05/2015 10:22

I saw a little baby girl last week. She had a mahooosive big bow thing on her head and a stiff netted dress. The flower or whatever really was huge and stood out inches. I just thought - why?

donemekmelarf · 20/05/2015 11:17

I'm surprised there aren't more responses to this thread.

Disturbing to think that a lot of people must be okay with people treating children in this way Sad

MitzyLeFrouf · 20/05/2015 11:22
Hmm

Don't you think it's more likely that people just didn't watch the programme?

donemekmelarf · 20/05/2015 11:24

Could be.
I'm surprised , because it was on at peak viewing time and on one of the major Channels.

Maybe people were so disgusted after 5 mins, they turned over to something else.

ebwy · 20/05/2015 11:26

I'm geting married on friday (I may be mentioning it a bit too much ) and my baby will be wearing... a comfy, soft dress and footie trousers from H&M. no stiff lace and uncomfortable fabrics, no huge bows and definitely no earrings!

She's beautiful without discomfort, thanks!

I felt so sorry for those children in the bit I saw of that programme.

MitzyLeFrouf · 20/05/2015 11:32

It was a trashy programme on a trashy channel. I usually skip over Channel 5 myself.

thegreylady · 20/05/2015 12:39

I just watched it on 5 on demand. I felt so sorry for the two boys in the programme. The mothers are playing out their own fantasies with their daughters. As for the ex 'glamour model' who would be happy for her dd to follow in her footsteps.....words fail me.

The80sweregreat · 20/05/2015 15:23

It was just awful. Poor kids.

Ohfourfoxache · 20/05/2015 16:28

Agree with Thegreylady - the boys were completely overlooked Sad - talk about blatant favouritism Sad

The earring scene was horrific - her poor little lobes were bright red and looked really sore Sad

anothermakesthree · 20/05/2015 17:44

Why oh why don't their family/friend/partners persuade them not to go on national TV??

It's so embarrassingly cringy. They look & sound like idiots.

ArseForElbow · 20/05/2015 17:50

I watched it and was gobsmacked at the earrings scene, poor little girls.

donemekmelarf · 20/05/2015 18:38

Why oh why don't their family/friend/partners persuade them not to go on national TV??

15 minutes of fame ridicule?
These poor delusional women are hoping their child will be the next Honey Boo Boo.

Outraged these idiotic mothers took the chance of Ben Needham's mum to appear.

RebootYourEngine · 20/05/2015 22:47

Someone pierced their 10 year olds belly button. WTF??????

Stanky · 21/05/2015 18:38

I'm just watching it now. The mum worrying about her kid's trainers getting dirty at the park, that looks stressful for all concerned.

ferretyfeet · 21/05/2015 18:44

I watched the first episode and I'm sorry but the mothers come across as so shallow, buying tat for their kids, the kids looked ridiculous. What are these mothers going to do if their kids have to wear a school uniform, and how on earth do they afford hundreds of pounds on this rubbish

Stanky · 21/05/2015 20:37

Aren't beauty pageants banned in France for under 16s? I think that they should be banned here as well.

Writerwannabe83 · 21/05/2015 22:43

I can't believe I still haven't had a chance to see it. As soon as DS goes down for his morning nap then I will watch it. It sounds like it's going to make me angry Hmm
