To think this t shirt and slogan was off for a child?

I think it was off anyway but especially on a boy who looked about 12-14. Just back from local restaurant with my kids and this teenager's t shirt said

" Bitch, ride a unicorn ". Am I just being po faced? It was my 9yr old who spotted it and was awed/shocked.

Yanbu, totally disgusting. What twat allows their child to wear that.

girliefriend · 10/05/2015 20:54

YANBU but i would have probably been so shocked I would have laughed, my 9yo dd would have just been confused by that slogan!!

123rd · 10/05/2015 20:55

Agree totally. Also -don't get it Confused

MerryMarigold · 10/05/2015 20:56

My 9yo wouldn't get it. Neither do I?

I assume it's something sexual. Unicorn horn? Penis? Ride me?

SurlyCue · 10/05/2015 20:59

I dont get it either but the use of the word bitch makes it inappropriate to me.

PureMorning · 10/05/2015 21:01

If it's this one my teen niece has it. I dont think it's bad

My 9 yr old was agog at the "B word" being used. Anything else passed him by. I assumed that the ride a unicorn was sexual but I'm old and not cool or down with the young ones.

Pure morning. What does it mean? And why would a girl (well, anyone, but especially a teen girl) want the word Bitch on their T shirt.

Bambambini · 10/05/2015 21:04

Puremorning - that's probably it. I wouldn't let my 13 yr old wear it and the other boy looked about the same age.

OP posts:
MerryMarigold · 10/05/2015 21:04

I don't think my 9yo knows the 'B word'. They all know the 'F word' (even my 6yo) and I had to tell him not to say 'What the hell' as I personally hate it.

TooOldForGlitter · 10/05/2015 21:04

My niece also has the t-shirt shown above but she's 18. On a 9 yo I would wonder tbh.

MerryMarigold · 10/05/2015 21:05

WHAT DOES IT MEAN???

CatOfTheWoods · 10/05/2015 21:06

Someone tell me what the hell it is on about! I feel about 95.

Think it's missing some grammar. Think it should be "Bitch [about me], please. I ride a unicorn."

A bit like "bitch about me because I drive a ferrari", but more, confusing?

It's grim. What parent lets their young teen wear that in public? What older person would think that was appropriate to wear in public? I don't really care what it means - the fact that it has to be explained means it's not funny or clever.

CatOfTheWoods · 10/05/2015 21:09

Or is is please as in "puh-lease"

Like it's saying Oh FGS bitch. I'm so much cooler than you.

?

Zippidydoodah · 10/05/2015 21:10

I guess it's like saying "I'm better than you, because I ride a unicorn, BITCH!" (With the "bitch" a la Jesse Pinkman! Grin)

Zippidydoodah · 10/05/2015 21:11

Cross posted a few times!

SaucyJack · 10/05/2015 21:11

Bitch is a bit much on a child, but the unicorn doesn't mean anything dodgy.

Just another thing that's currently in fashion on FB- bit like zombies.

todayisayesterdaystomorrow · 10/05/2015 21:11

Another for don't get it.
If my teenagers aquired clothes with "bitch" written on, it would get lost in the wash.

Bambambini · 10/05/2015 21:11

I didn't see it all clearly. I translated it as meaning "Bitch! ride my unicorn (dick)."

OP posts:
RebeccaCloud9 · 10/05/2015 21:12

Yeah, lemony is right. Like 'oh please, you can't bring me down because I ride a unicorn so I am awesome'.

MerryMarigold · 10/05/2015 21:12

I guess it's an in joke, so they do think it's funny and clever. Ok, I geddit now [old and grey-haired emoticon]. I think a boy wearing it was probably making a point he's gay and 'fabulous'.
