AIBU to think Sam Cam wears horrible clothes?

I have seen her in about two nice outfits ever. She seems nice enough, but for someone with such a high public profile I just think "Um...is that the best you could come up with?" The shirt waister she wore on Voting Day made her look like a 70s beautician. She has the height and a great figure for clothes.

Maybe people think you wear horrible clothes too OP? Confused

It's all personal opinion that's probably better left unsaid.

MurielWoods · 09/05/2015 23:18

Dear god, women slagging off other women based on their looks.

How fucking dull

beezlebop · 09/05/2015 23:19

Yes, she is smartly dressed. That is all that matters.

JoanHickson · 09/05/2015 23:22

She looked nice on the scooter today. She seems a nice lady. Not keen on her formal wear or choice in Men. Each to their own.

Morelikeguidelines · 09/05/2015 23:24

I often say the same re Sam cam I'm afraid.

Nicely Farage 's suits were appalling.

Morelikeguidelines · 09/05/2015 23:24

Nigel, not nicely. Grin

BreconBeBuggered · 09/05/2015 23:25

Never noticed. Why would I care if I had?

YvetteChauvire · 09/05/2015 23:27

This is oh so very predictable and, as PP said, rather dull. Style/fashion is subjective. There are people who probably think Sam C looks great and others, like you, who think she doesn't. Chances are there are women who probably think you look quite shit most of the time. But who cares as long as you like it. Yes?

Scuttlebutter · 09/05/2015 23:28

Another one here who thinks it's vile to criticise her dress sense, FFS. She is not a politician, and has never stood for public office. As the wife of the PM, she is required to attend some public/diplomatic events e.g. dinner with the Obamas, but as long as what she wears is appropriate and doesn't give offence that is all that matters.

Why should women be policing what other women wear? And then we wonder why there are not more women in Parliament. Hmm

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 09/05/2015 23:31

It's not like she is wearing a boob tube with an slogan and hot pants with a pair of badly fitted heels.

Topseyt · 09/05/2015 23:32

I think it is so shallow to judge people so much by their clothes. Just as with anything else, some people will like her style, and others won't. It is purely subjective IMHO.

I like her clothes in general, though I freely admit that I am perhaps not the world's greatest authority on style and fashion. I set little store by that sort of thing and normally virtually live in my dog walking garb.

I know there was a lot of comment when she did not wear a hat to the royal wedding, but I really don't get why it was an issue. OK, wearing hats to weddings is something of a tradition, but why does it matter if someone doesn't want to. No big deal, surely.

I do have issues with hats myself. They never seem to sit well on my head at all and just make me look as though I am wearing a dustbin lid on my head. Grin I have never worn one to a wedding for that reason. The only hat I have ever worn regularly is my Disneyland baseball cap which I use as a sun hat.

I am not saying that Samantha Cameron would look bad wearing a well made hat because I don't think she would, but maybe she feels just as uncomfortable as I do in them.

DarylDixonsDarlin · 09/05/2015 23:33

I was initially puzzled as to why she was wearing a hi vis vest over her clothes on Friday, then I saw the front and worked out it was just the back of her dress! ShockGrinBlush

I don't care what she wears, but I do wonder if she chooses her own clothes or has outfits "suggested" for her by a stylist or whatever. I don't see her as a style icon, no more so than any other politician or their spouse Confused

HuftysTrain · 09/05/2015 23:35

Stop with the pious comments folks. Sam Cam is a British Fashion Council ambassador. It's entirely reasonable to notice and have an opinion on her style.

southeastastra · 09/05/2015 23:36

i don't care either what she wears

Minikievs · 09/05/2015 23:36

I never liked Cherie either The80s. That bloody photo of her opening the door in her Snoopy nightdress with her bed hair. Ugh. As if she was a totally normal "one of the people" housewife who was unaware there would be photographers outside her house the day after a general election. Sod off.
Disclaimer: I am a grumpy old cow who often has irrational hatred for people that I will NEVER meet

SirChenjin · 09/05/2015 23:39

Another one who doesn't care what she wears - there are far more important things in life.

YABU on many levels - but you already know that.

Kewcumber · 09/05/2015 23:40

Who cares if she WAS a politician Shock

You think it would be acceptable to say "Oh That Angela Merkel - never mind the Greek debt crisis, did you see what she was wearing? An A-line skirt! God how 70's"

Her clothes cover her up, they aren't offensive, she isn't selling clothes or a performance artist. Any saddos who want to set her up and shoot her down as a style icon probably need to take a long hard look at their own values and the dumbing down of women into vapid fashion plates but not for the serious stuff.

Sam Cam is a British Fashion Council ambassador

So hopefully she's wearing something British - job done.

WorraLiberty · 09/05/2015 23:52

In your head, yes.

In a private conversation with friends, yes.

To start a public thread on the internet, not so much.

It's incredibly crass imo.

WonderingWillow · 09/05/2015 23:54

I like what she wears. She is an attractive woman who dresses well.

RonaldMcDonald · 09/05/2015 23:57

She dresses like a lot of women I know

Smoorikins · 10/05/2015 00:10

It's sad that the society we live in places such value on a woman's appearance, that women think it is 'entirely reasonable' to have threads like these judging others on their cover of clothing.

hiddenhome · 10/05/2015 01:26

I think they look like a very happy couple Smile

Tiredemma · 10/05/2015 01:30

I really liked the blue and green dress she wore yesterday. Very nice.

I thought that riding down Downing St on a scooter though was ridiculous
