Advice re my naked neighbour.

Neighbour's bathroom overlooks my garden and is directly opposite our dining room table.

The are in the street behind my house and I think its a couple in late 20s/30s and a few young kids. I don't know them.

They do not have a blind over their bathroom window and the shower appears to be directly in front of the window.

My issue is that we (our youngest child is 8) do not really want to watch them in the shower, wanking, having sex (frequently) while we eat our dinner or sit in our garden (houses are quite close together). You can plainly see through the glass even though it is frosted.

WWYD - put up with it and live and let live or stick a blind catalogue through the door with a photo of what we can see?!

Do you live opposite my old house OP?

We had a downstairs bathroom and there was no blind but window was frosted. We had absolutely NO idea that you could see us in the shower until we were sitting in garden one day and a guest we had staying was using the shower. We could see everything! We'd lived there a year!!!!

I felt mortified about it. I bet they have no idea either.

We moved out years ago thank god, I couldn't look the neighbours in the eye!

MamehaSan · 04/05/2015 22:42

To all those doubting that you can see through frosted glass: you can, especially if there's a light on in the bathroom.

In my first year of uni. My friend's room in halls had a window overlooking a central courtyard, opposite one of the communal bathrooms (no posh en suites in those days). We all knew not to use the end shower cubicle next to the window, as her room and those on either side could look straight in through the not-so-opaque frosted glass. Of course we were all aghast when one of the rugby players from down the corridor once inadvertantly used that cubicle and gave us an eyefull

Ok so I've been telling DH we need a blind up in the shower room bit he persuaded me it was at the side of the house at an angle to the street so no-one would see.

Because of this thread I just tested the theory with the light on and me in the street.

Mortified. ShockBlush

Don't think you can see detail but there's pink nakedness visible for at least three feet of the street. Luckily not overlooked so chances are slim bit still. Scale of 1-10 of embarrassed= 9.5

Blind shopping tomorrow.

Coumarin · 04/05/2015 23:11

No wanking or sexual relations have taken place in said shower room I hasten to add. It's too small.

The room that is.

PurpleHebe1 · 04/05/2015 23:44

All frosted glazing I'd definitely not the same! When we had our windows replaced, the catalogue had about ten different patterns of frosted glass to choose from. Each was accompanied by a handy photo of a showering body behind said patterned glass, ranging from see through wavy to fairly opaque. Having seen the pics, needless to say we chose most opaque AND put up a blind!

Dowser · 04/05/2015 23:46

This thread is hilarious and more common than you would realise.

Weathergames · 04/05/2015 23:54

I may out myself or get into trouble for this....

OMG!

Lots of the houses on my street still have the main bathrooms downstairs, and as soon as we moved in I noticed how casual a lot of my new neighbours were about window-coverings, and how often they cleaned their teeth or went for a wee. Some of them have blinds that they roll up during the daytime, with varying results; as pp have said, there are degrees of opacity. My bathroom blinds are permanently closed. I wee a lot. Nobody on my street needs to know this.

BreconBeBuggered · 05/05/2015 00:00

You're not on my road are you, OP?!

That's lovely, that is.

Weathergames · 05/05/2015 00:00

Buy blinds people :)

Bollocks (or not Grin). You can see a pink human rubbing his nethers - you can't see the cock from 20 feet away through frosted glass.

You know what he's doing but you can't really see.

Same with the sex. You know but you can't really see.

I'd say to the children not to look as you could almost see a nude person.

Pipbin · 05/05/2015 00:05

Omg! I would put a note through the door. I can only assume he thinks he can't be seen. Either that or he's getting off on it.
And honestly, who has the time or energy to have bathroom sex?

BreconBeBuggered · 05/05/2015 00:06

I reckon you'd see both cock and balls there if it weren't for the dandruff shampoo strategically positioned on the window-sill.

I'm laughing so hard, trying to keep quiet and not wake the rest of the house!

Although, has brought back a mortifying memory. When at uni, a million years ago, there was a lecture building next door to my halls of residence. Now, the angle of my room, plus distance, led me to believe that no one could see in (without powerful binoculars at least). The following year I had a class in said building. I was wrong. Very unlikely anyone saw much, but there had been some warm mornings, curtains and window open, in bed with some ex boyfriend.....Blush.

CelibacyCakeAndFuckThePO · 05/05/2015 00:19

Weather busted!

You've shown 'us' that delightful pic before Grin

Weathergames · 05/05/2015 00:25

RolodexOfHate · 05/05/2015 01:46

This thread is one of the best things I've read on here in a while!
Not as bad as my flatmate who does a naked walk (and carries the towel on his shoulders!) to the shower every day though!
