so, backstory is that dh has erectile disfunction, has seen gp got pills and so on but limited success. anyone used one of these contraptions successfully, does it feel real?

As far as I am concerned, strap-on dildos are always the answer.

More seriously - they don't feel the same, no. That's not to say that both are not enjoyable.

I would personally explorethe potential root of the problem more thoroughly before resorting to treating the symptoms, as it were.

If the question is 'What's the capital of Peru? or 'Who won the grand national in 1986?' then I can safely saw that a strap on dildo is not the answer.

God sake people, get over yourselves. Erectile disfunction happens to many (most) men as they get older. Which means some likelihood that one day you'll be facing this issue. Op YABU to be thinking of Creative ways to deal with this. But YABU to ask strangers on the Internet a question that only you and your DP can answer.

If OP wants advice on ED, then using advanced search for previous threads, or waiting a while and reposting in health or relationships, will produce quite a different thread.

Choosing AIBU, and using the style of Mock The Week (they have a round called 'if this is the answer, what is the question') is pretty much a guarantee of a frivolous thread.

Why on earth don't you find something else to do? Sex doesn't have to always be penetrative, there are many ways of giving and receiving pleasure. Try some tantric, be inventive and stop making your old man feel inadequate because of something he can't help. Imagine if you had the female equivalent.
