My ds is 2.5 and crazy about bing (annoying black rabbit on cbeebies) since there is no bing toys available yet I found a pattern online and made him a cuddly toy bing. This has received a lot of attention and have happily taken peoples email addresses and linked them to the pattern.
This morning we went to the park and a woman approached me asking about my ds's bing, I offered to email her the pattern but she said she wanted to buy the one that I had made. I explained that he wasn't for sale but she kept offering me more and more money (£50 Shock) in the end after trying to explain I snapped a bit, said that its my son's favourite toy and its not for sale and to please leave me alone now.
She huffed off and left with her dd, less than a minute later my ds started crying "bing gone" I assumed he had dropped him off the climbing frame but couldn't find him anywhere, I walked to the other end of the park and saw this woman getting in her car with bing in her hands! I tried to run after her but she drove off, got my phone out to try and take a picture of the number plate but it was to late.
Who on earth would do that? I'm going in between being angry and trying not to cry. Ds cried the whole way home and is now looking around trying to find him Sad
My dd is a year old and we have been in and out of hospital with her for her whole life. I made bing as a present for ds for being angel at all of dds appointments, he even helps to stop her crying during tests.
Lucky I have lots of fabric left over so I'm desperately cutting out fabric to make another one.
I'm just in shock, who on earth would take a toy off a 2year old!
I really don't think the police would be interested in a homemade toy being stolen, sorry for the pity post, I just needed to rant Sad

She valued it herself at £50. If some random person came up to me and stole that much money I think that I would report it.

goes off to Google Bing and add to list of money making schemes

IceRebel · 30/04/2015 12:58

Please post a link here when it' on FB, plenty will share and spread the story to help try and get Bing back. :)

CupidStuntSurvivor · 30/04/2015 13:00

I wouldn't bother with the local paper...this is one of the rare situations that Facebook can really help with.

You need a picture of Bing, preferably your DS holding Bing. The post should include why you made Bing, where you were, what time, what the woman looked like and rough age of her child, what car she was driving, colour, etc. Include the conversation where you made it clear your DS was far too attached to Bing to consider selling.

Post to as many local sites as possible, encourage others to share.

What a vile immoral cow! I hope her next poo is a hedgehog Angry

PinkSquash · 30/04/2015 13:01

Some people are arses. Angry

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 30/04/2015 13:01

I am utterly utterly incandescent on your behalf - please don't let the utter bitch get away with it.

uggmum · 30/04/2015 13:02

I would go to the police. It is theft after all and she could be really easy to locate. CCTV is everywhere and you know the approximate time she drove off. So the police could trace her at minimal cost.
That would serve her right having the police at her door.
Then you could name and shame. Such despicable behavior should not go unpunished.

RupertsGirlGroom · 30/04/2015 13:02

Make Bing her 'tell tale heart' with a massive hate campaign, so that she darent even leave the house with it, and gets nervous if her DC talks about it.

Morelikeguidelines · 30/04/2015 13:04

Horrendous behaviour! Agree with share, share, share and spread this as widely as possible.

What and entitled cow!

Big hugs to you and your poor ds.

SavoyCabbage · 30/04/2015 13:04

This is just awful. Your poor baby.

DextersMistress · 30/04/2015 13:05

Op I'm seething on your behalf. I actually feel really on edge at the thought of this absolute twat bag getting away with it.

Please please don't leave it. Copy and paste your op to Facebook and every group in your area, including description of the bitch and her car. Angry

Morelikeguidelines · 30/04/2015 13:05

And definitely go to police.

Maybe put up wanted posters around park and surrounding area. Am incandescent on your behalf. Angry

frankie001 · 30/04/2015 13:06

That is so awful. What a vile woman.

DisappointedOne · 30/04/2015 13:07

I'm rarely speechless, but wow. Let's hope karma was watching, and yes, go global with this.

peaches1999 · 30/04/2015 13:07

So angry for you, I can't imagine and normal , sane person doing this. I agree get on FB, And get it shared.

Justusemyname · 30/04/2015 13:09

Twitter as well?

Make sure it is marked STOLEN and not lost. Put the whole story out there.

seaoflove · 30/04/2015 13:09

I can't believe she had the temerity to steal a priceless toy from a little boy. Jesus fucking Christ. What a hideous excuse for a human being.

richthegreatcornholio · 30/04/2015 13:13

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that you're probably in breach of copyright. I wouldn't go around publicising it too much!

roslyndee · 30/04/2015 13:13

I second PP facebook idea, those things get results!

What an awful woman, I am so sorry.

ItsADinosaur · 30/04/2015 13:14

What an absolute bitch!!

Get on all your local fb pages. Make sure you put a good description of her and the car and of the toy. And any photo of the toy you might have. I'm sure she'll be recognised. You need to name and shame as much as you can.

I don't know where you live but my local fb pages are very used and popular so it really does work.

Share it on your own fb too so it'll spread. I'm disgusted someone could do this.

hoobypickypicky · 30/04/2015 13:14

What a piece of shit! Definitely put a photo of the toy on your local Facebook pages and on Twitter. I'll happily share it across the UK and I'm sure others will too.

Make sure you get as good a description of her as possible, and the make/colour/model of her vehicle because you don't want people accusing you of stealing your own toy when you've made a replacement for your son!

YANAgurl1973 · 30/04/2015 13:14

Does the park have any security cameras? Awful woman :( x

roslyndee · 30/04/2015 13:14

oh good, rich has popped up again to enlighten us with his lovely sympathetic (entirely incorrect) opinions.

sebsmummy1 · 30/04/2015 13:14

Ah but seaoflove she wanted it, couldn't have it and so she took it. Pretty much sums up the morals of large proportion of people nowadays. I suspect she also thieves from stores and justifies it to herself as putting a tiny dint in profits and they are a big business so doesn't really make a difference.

MrsTrentReznor · 30/04/2015 13:15

Please Facebook it so this evil grasping bitch can be shamed!
