My ds is 2.5 and crazy about bing (annoying black rabbit on cbeebies) since there is no bing toys available yet I found a pattern online and made him a cuddly toy bing. This has received a lot of attention and have happily taken peoples email addresses and linked them to the pattern.
This morning we went to the park and a woman approached me asking about my ds's bing, I offered to email her the pattern but she said she wanted to buy the one that I had made. I explained that he wasn't for sale but she kept offering me more and more money (£50 Shock) in the end after trying to explain I snapped a bit, said that its my son's favourite toy and its not for sale and to please leave me alone now.
She huffed off and left with her dd, less than a minute later my ds started crying "bing gone" I assumed he had dropped him off the climbing frame but couldn't find him anywhere, I walked to the other end of the park and saw this woman getting in her car with bing in her hands! I tried to run after her but she drove off, got my phone out to try and take a picture of the number plate but it was to late.
Who on earth would do that? I'm going in between being angry and trying not to cry. Ds cried the whole way home and is now looking around trying to find him Sad
My dd is a year old and we have been in and out of hospital with her for her whole life. I made bing as a present for ds for being angel at all of dds appointments, he even helps to stop her crying during tests.
Lucky I have lots of fabric left over so I'm desperately cutting out fabric to make another one.
I'm just in shock, who on earth would take a toy off a 2year old!
I really don't think the police would be interested in a homemade toy being stolen, sorry for the pity post, I just needed to rant Sad

Man I've read all sorts of evil shit on Mumsnet but this takes the fucking biscuit.

What a fucking entitled bitch Shock

"My kid wants it so Must have it at any cost"

Total fuck bastard minge arse fuck.

bbcessex · 30/04/2015 12:50

that truly is absolutely despicable.. poor you and your family - but poor child of the robbers mother too - imagine what's in store for them with a mother like that?

I absolutely second previous poster's suggestion of putting a picture of your Bing on your local FB site, along with a description of the woman and the story above and a description of her age / car etc.

Absolutely bloody disgusting.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 30/04/2015 12:51

Oh my good god, what a horrible thing to do. I echo what others have said. Get it all over your local media and email your local paper. Mine is on Facebook and often shares little local interest stories. Make it too hot to handle, as they say. Point out it's a one off and hand made and include lots of pictures.

I'm so sorry for your ds. I'm shocked.

bbcessex · 30/04/2015 12:51

also - although is just a toy - I definitely think I would phone the police 101 number.. you have had something of yours deliberately and maliciously stolen - she sounds such a nutter that maybe the child wasn't even hers Confused

TwinkieTwinkle · 30/04/2015 12:52

Once in a blue moon Facebook becomes useful, this is one of those times. Particularly if you live in a small town. What an absolute bitch.

Justusemyname · 30/04/2015 12:52

Oh that has made me cry. Stupid hormones.

I'd be all over face book if I were you. A friend of hers will see it and know exactly what has gone on.

I would report to police. Harassment then theft. They might say go away but if you don't tell them they'll say nothing.

BigRedBall · 30/04/2015 12:52

Omgoodness! What a bum head!

Where abouts are you? Definitely alert the newspapers and fb groups like Spotted xxx.

I'm just afraid if you do this, she'll end up throwing it in the bin so she's not caught out Sad

goldenduckling · 30/04/2015 12:52

Thank you for all the advice, I'm in tears, will contact the local paper today.

sebsmummy1 · 30/04/2015 12:53

I agree about contacting the police. For those who say don't bother, at what point would you bother? When some stranger steals your child's scooter, bike, pram?

Taystee · 30/04/2015 12:53

Please seek out your local Facebook group if you're not already a member. Our local group is very active and people are always having lost toys returned thanks to the help of the members

Oh poor you and your poor DS.

If you have a photo of the toy you should post it on FB and explain the whole thing in a post, with date and location.

Sometimes these things go viral!

Ohfourfoxache · 30/04/2015 12:54

What a cunting bitch Shock

Yes, completely agree with ^ - please get a description of this cow and the toy out there ASAP. Someone has to recognise her. Plaster it all over FB, the local paper, anything you can think of. Could you name change and post on MN with a picture etc? You could ask MNHQ to delete this thread to protect your identity?

ShaynePunim · 30/04/2015 12:54

Yes! Local paper, definitely!

thegreylady · 30/04/2015 12:54

Suggest in newspaper or fb that she post it anonymously to the newspaper. That is horrible, your poor little boy :(

BigRedBall · 30/04/2015 12:55

Yes note down all the main things you remember now incase you forget later. Pen, paper, coffee, go!

ollieplimsoles · 30/04/2015 12:55

Let us know how you get on golden and if their is a link to any reports on it so we can share! in such a small town we need to hunt this bitch down! Could of being anyone's child!

Handsoffmysweets I'm the same! pregnancy hormones make the rage worse, my child is swimming around in hot water! D:

SingingHinnies · 30/04/2015 12:56

First thing i would do would be to get a photo on facebook with STOLEN from XXX PARK and a pic of bing, then i would put what you have wrote in your op and get people to share the shit out of it. Someone might have seen her in the park and knows who she is, she mite panic and hand it in, I would do it just to shame her, she's bound to see it

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 30/04/2015 12:56

Oh golden, what a shit thing to happen. Just remember that for every deranged thief like that, there's a hell of a lot of outraged and furious and supportive MNers on here that are right behind you.

dynevoran · 30/04/2015 12:56

What a nasty thing to have done. I would be furious and seething. What a cunt she is.

sockmatcher · 30/04/2015 12:57

I'd hunt her down. She's very obviously an entitled mare

1hamwich4 · 30/04/2015 12:57

I'm not a fan of revenge or airing dirty linen in public but I'd say the best thing to do would be to spread this calmly and factually all over as many local Facebook groups as you can find. And probably the local paper- I bet they would be interested in it on a sort of human interest level.

You probably won't get it back. But someone low enough to deliberately steal a child's toy deserves to be shamed, good and proper. That was absolutely despicable behaviour.

Facebook, facebook, facebook. Add a photo, make it public and include a description of the car and the woman. And share like crazy.
