My ds is 2.5 and crazy about bing (annoying black rabbit on cbeebies) since there is no bing toys available yet I found a pattern online and made him a cuddly toy bing. This has received a lot of attention and have happily taken peoples email addresses and linked them to the pattern.
This morning we went to the park and a woman approached me asking about my ds's bing, I offered to email her the pattern but she said she wanted to buy the one that I had made. I explained that he wasn't for sale but she kept offering me more and more money (£50 Shock) in the end after trying to explain I snapped a bit, said that its my son's favourite toy and its not for sale and to please leave me alone now.
She huffed off and left with her dd, less than a minute later my ds started crying "bing gone" I assumed he had dropped him off the climbing frame but couldn't find him anywhere, I walked to the other end of the park and saw this woman getting in her car with bing in her hands! I tried to run after her but she drove off, got my phone out to try and take a picture of the number plate but it was to late.
Who on earth would do that? I'm going in between being angry and trying not to cry. Ds cried the whole way home and is now looking around trying to find him Sad
My dd is a year old and we have been in and out of hospital with her for her whole life. I made bing as a present for ds for being angel at all of dds appointments, he even helps to stop her crying during tests.
Lucky I have lots of fabric left over so I'm desperately cutting out fabric to make another one.
I'm just in shock, who on earth would take a toy off a 2year old!
I really don't think the police would be interested in a homemade toy being stolen, sorry for the pity post, I just needed to rant Sad

I am honestly disgusted that this lowlife scum is out there, who would take a young child's toy from them? I am so Sad for your amazing little boy.

Omg what an awful awful woman!
It's not nice I had it happen to me as a child a woman pinched favorite doll of mine that I was sat playing with on the front garden of my house her daughter distracted me and she took it and put it in her bag when I told her "you took my doll" she said no that's my daughters doll I called for my mom and screamed as the pair walked off my mom and our next door neighbours came out they chased after the woman but couldnt get the doll back xx so know how you and your son feel how people can steal from children is beyond me xx

I am slightly starstruck! How lovely

PuggyMum · 01/05/2015 16:01

Just caught up and looks like there will be a fabulous ending here for your ds.....

But I too agree this woman needs hunting down and shaming. What an absolutely despicable thing to do to a child.

I hope your local paper / fb can help.

Some people really are revolting.

seaoflove · 01/05/2015 16:04

Ted Dewan himself! Amazing Grin

Jackie0 · 01/05/2015 16:06

Imagine being that woman's child Sad
Either you are raised with a very warped view of what it is to be a decent member of society #fucked
Or you grow up to realise your mother is a vile individual #fuckedbyproxy
What happened to your little one was disgusting and unfair but thank god youre not them.
Totally out the bitch on social media

Iwasbornin1993 · 01/05/2015 16:07

What an absolutely disgraceful human being that woman is! I hope karma catches up with her very soon!

Hope your DS is okay OP - sure he will love his new Bing and will be excited to hear all his holiday stories when he gets home!

goldenduckling · 01/05/2015 16:09

ShockShockShock bows down to bingbunnysdaddy, I'm in shock, a million thanks everyone for all the lovely posts and offer's. This is truly mumsnet at its best, even my husband has shed a tear reading this thread.
Ds if fine today, still asking for bing but the trampoline is a good distraction. Got all the bits cut out and hopefully I can sew him up tonight.

There are lots of handmade Bings on eBay - you could try and spot yours on there! Maybe filter by your local area.

Bingbunnydaddy! My toddler LOVES Bing

Ohfourfoxache · 01/05/2015 16:57

bingbunnydaddy what a lovely post and what a beautiful offer of help.

DS is only 7 weeks old so children's stories are not my forte, but I am going to make a point of introducing him to Bing in the future. I am sure that your kindness is reflected in your stories.

JainaProudmoore · 01/05/2015 17:14

I really really hope you find that horrible woman and get DS's original Bing back! I wish I could give him a big squishy hug, poor little thing Sad
