My ds is 2.5 and crazy about bing (annoying black rabbit on cbeebies) since there is no bing toys available yet I found a pattern online and made him a cuddly toy bing. This has received a lot of attention and have happily taken peoples email addresses and linked them to the pattern.
This morning we went to the park and a woman approached me asking about my ds's bing, I offered to email her the pattern but she said she wanted to buy the one that I had made. I explained that he wasn't for sale but she kept offering me more and more money (£50 Shock) in the end after trying to explain I snapped a bit, said that its my son's favourite toy and its not for sale and to please leave me alone now.
She huffed off and left with her dd, less than a minute later my ds started crying "bing gone" I assumed he had dropped him off the climbing frame but couldn't find him anywhere, I walked to the other end of the park and saw this woman getting in her car with bing in her hands! I tried to run after her but she drove off, got my phone out to try and take a picture of the number plate but it was to late.
Who on earth would do that? I'm going in between being angry and trying not to cry. Ds cried the whole way home and is now looking around trying to find him Sad
My dd is a year old and we have been in and out of hospital with her for her whole life. I made bing as a present for ds for being angel at all of dds appointments, he even helps to stop her crying during tests.
Lucky I have lots of fabric left over so I'm desperately cutting out fabric to make another one.
I'm just in shock, who on earth would take a toy off a 2year old!
I really don't think the police would be interested in a homemade toy being stolen, sorry for the pity post, I just needed to rant Sad

What a horrible person she was. Best thing you can do is make another one, and look out for this lady at the park...I believe in karma

lookatme14 · 30/04/2015 18:04

Sat reading this post in utter disbelief! How disgraceful! Shock

CheeseandPickledOnion · 30/04/2015 18:05

Please do report to 101 OP. It's not OTT to do so in this case.

She a complete CUNT, but not only that, a very worrying one.

Oh my fucking word....

You need to name and shame OP.

Where are you based (roughly), what does this woman look like? What car did she drive (colour / model)

I am not suggesting a mob or anything but someone on MN will know this woman who suddenly appears with her new Bing toy??

Meloria · 30/04/2015 18:31

How awful. No need to be afraid of copyright issues. General remedy is to account for profit or brand damage and you've made no profit and if anything you've probably brought a lot of attention to Bing in a very lovely way.

I can't believe someone would be so awful.

AmberNectarine · 30/04/2015 18:32

This is just revolting.

I absolutely agree report to 101. I mean, you would if she mugged you for your handbag - she essentially mugged your child. Don't think this isn't worthy of their time.

So sorry this happened to your DS, the depths of human iniquity never cease to amaze me.

YouTheCat · 30/04/2015 18:35

Essentially, she's mugged a child. Very nasty.

Call 101 and report her.

TheReluctantCountess · 30/04/2015 18:40

I'm furious on your behalf, op. What an awful person to do that.

A couple of years ago, we were at Haven, and my ds had an old Rory the tiger, of the style that they no longer sold, and a woman took it from him. Luckily, I noticed it and got it back, but I was livid.

Szeli · 30/04/2015 18:42

shitty shitty behaviour Angry

i do have an unreasonable request tho... when bing2 is finished and bat shit lady has been placed in the stocks, please can you pm me the pattern? Grin it sounds ace

DuchessofNorks · 30/04/2015 18:46

That is despicable behaviour. What a nasty old cunt.

Name and Shame. Get MN to delete your old posts and NC afterwards.

Put it on Facebook and definitely link us. This woman needs a hard slap wake up call and if she realises people are trying to find it then she might realise how awful she has been.

Thanks
minouwasminou · 30/04/2015 18:52

Like a PP said...leave FB etc for a few days until Bing has been seen out and about with Douchezilla.

DuchessofNorks · 30/04/2015 18:54

Seconding the Pattern request, pretty please :)

Yarp · 30/04/2015 18:54

I too was thinking about local paper. This is actually a really good use of the Sad Face genre

Yarp · 30/04/2015 18:57

Peepants

That is so incredibly sad. Your poor son

OP

As peeps have said; she stole. Maybe 101 isn't OTT

Yarp · 30/04/2015 18:59

OP

There is a lovely lovely book called Tatty Ratty about a little girl who loses her toy rabbit (?) and it details the rabbit's adventures before it miraculously returns, all clean and mended

AlmaMartyr · 30/04/2015 19:07

This is awful :( What a terrible thing to do.

OMGmetoo · 30/04/2015 19:08

Bing bunny pattern (PDF link) www.bingbunny.com/download/Make_your_own_Bing.pdf

goldenduckling · 30/04/2015 19:13

Thank you OMGmetoo was just about to link to it! I phoned 101 and they have taken it very seriously and are going to check CCTV in the area.

OP posts:
Yarp · 30/04/2015 19:17

Good for you.

TelephoneIgnoringMachine · 30/04/2015 19:20

Glad they took it seriously. Hope they catch the immoral scum.

Mummatron3000 · 30/04/2015 19:25

Pleased you've reported it & they're taking it seriously.

What is wrong with some people? Who steals a child's toy?!?!? Words fail me!!

AllTheNamesIWantHaveGone · 30/04/2015 19:25

If something good has to come out of a bad situation then you are the inspiration for a lot of us to go and make a Bing toy now !! Thanks for the pattern link (whoever did it !). I will put it on my to do list ...... xx

TrollshaveLittleWillies · 30/04/2015 19:37

Even if you don't want to out the woman with posting details about her car etc on Facebook then at least post something to say that he is lost.

GorgeousPie · 30/04/2015 19:42

What a sad post, your poor wee fella! I hope someone identifies this nasty cow and she gets the scorn she deserves. What a horrible thing to do :-(
