to wonder why women are so eager to get display their breasts to all and sundry

Model Gisele Bundchen "celebrates" her 20 year career by posing in the nude for the cover of Vogue Hmm Why not mark this milestone by posing in a beautiful dress?

They're all at it. Kate Moss "celebrated" turning 40 by posing for Playboy in bunny ears and tail FFS!

So it's not just desperate wannabees but 'A' listers who chose to demean all women by exposing their breasts for publicity. What message does this give to young women?

I think they are pretty arty shots, I don't see the problem. It's not as if they are doing full frontal minge shots, you can't even see a nipple

I don't understand it either. Completely unnecessary, but their choice.

And I don't see how one woman's actions demean all women. Do men who get their pecs out demean all men or is it only women who hold this responsibility?

The fact they do it willingly doesn't mean it's not demeaning. I think it does demean all women when we are reduced to our naked bodies in the media All. The. Fucking. Time.

As long as they don't expect me to get my boobs out I don't have a problem with it. They can do whatever they want to with their own bodies, they have beautiful bodies, I find it sad that other women have negative things to say about how a woman chooses to show her own body.

They want to prove that despite being 'old' now they still look great naked? A shame they are generally photo shopped and nothing like their natural form any way?

They are competing in a much younger market so have to promote themselves.?

They're models not all women. Models always have their bodies out...moss bared her breasts in Face magazine when she was under 16 iirc. As Anita Roddick said there's 3 billion women
Who don't look like supermodels and 8 who do. I don't find what they do representative of my life or any other women I know.

I would like Society to stop promoting women as mere sex objects. To that end I wish SOME women would stop promoting themselves as sex objects.

I agree it is demeaning. But it is the job of these women to look "sexy" for men. Have you seen how few roles there are for older women in the media? So they are showing for the sake of their careers, that they are not "old".

I think that when how someone's body looks has been over-valued like a supermodel's from a young age (14, 15?) it might well be a desperate act on the lines of "I'm still lovely, I still have worth!" to get your kit off and display your assets at milestone aging

I don't think the red trousers one is very flattering. But the vogue one is amazing. Has it been modified? The shape of he body , particularly her legs is beyond amazing.

I've got great tits. I would show them off more if, the rest of my body wasn't do damn poor now.

I have no idea what her motivation is. Is she still desperate for approval?

I am much more conscious of how the media represents the 'ideal' woman in the media, now that I have daughters. Before anyone assumes I think mothers should cover up their bodies.....

Because what is 'sexy for men' is what women get their inspiration from when they want to look 'good' or 'sexy'. Or when they want to torture themselves, as the case may be.... What men seem to want seems to be the goal, these says. Slim, boobs, long hair/legs, no pubic hair, etcetera.

Yes chiefbrody, it is about getting work. Just as you might update your CV to show as you get older that you are in touch with the latest advances in your industry, she has to show she still looks "sexy".
