Check the listings, is this a repeat?

KatoPotato · 23/04/2015 20:55

Sorry! Wrong thread!!

DamsonInDistress · 23/04/2015 20:56

It's better than the Labrador puppy I saw in a trolley in Waitrose the other day...

UncertainTea · 23/04/2015 20:56

More bothered by the ones with bird poo on them!

KatoPotato · 23/04/2015 20:57

But seeing as I'm here now... I personally hate seeing wobbly toddlers standing in trolleys, it gives me the fear!

mrsfuzzy · 23/04/2015 20:57

what happens if they take a tumble kato ?

Don't look at them then. Just get on with your shopping.

Sirzy · 23/04/2015 20:58

Given most trolleys are stored outside in all weathers and for rats and whatever else to run across that side doesn't bother me.

Personally I don't like it from a safety point of view having has to quickly catch a strangers child once when they leaned over and fell out.

BlueBananas · 23/04/2015 20:58

But...food is in packaging?? Confused

Comingoutofhibernation · 23/04/2015 20:58

But is the food not usually in some sort of packaging?

DoJo · 23/04/2015 20:59

shoes that have walked in god knows what and in the trolley where food goes ...which is kept outside in the car-park exposed to the elements/bird shit/bags of compost etc which are actually on sale at the store itself/the coughs and sneezes of everyone who uses them and all manner of other things. Unless your store hoses trolleys down after each use and keeps them in a sealed and sanitised container then the chances are that a toddler's shoes are not going to be the worst thing they come into contact with on any given day.

Bowlersarm · 23/04/2015 20:59

I think it's cute. But I've never thought of muddy shoes before.

SometimesTables · 23/04/2015 21:00

I really don't like it as I think it's unhygienic but I remember from previous threads that lots of people don't mind. I know the trolleys aren't that clean but I still don't like it

I'm a no shoes in the house, no loo brush type of person. Wink

butterflyballs · 23/04/2015 21:00

Given that most food comes in packaging that requires bolt cutters to release it...And that most germs are on the handle of the trolley, I wouldn't worry about a kid sitting in a trolley.

Foxes, birds etc and you're worried about dc shoes? Had to do it in many super markets - dtds were prem and late walkers. Not many double trolleys when I needed them. Anyway, there are many things to get annoyed about, this isn't one of them.

hazeyjane · 23/04/2015 21:05

Not bothered about the hygiene aspect, but worry about kids in the shallow trolleys, as i have seen them tip and child fall out.

quietasamouse · 23/04/2015 21:06

No, it's never really bothered me. I wasn't allowed to do it often but loved it when I did.

CadieAgain · 23/04/2015 21:06

I don't like the fact that supermarkets don't have suitable wheelchair trolleys for autistic children and that DS has to sit in the dirty part. As for his shoes, they're clean because he can't, you know, walk around outside. Sorry it bothers you though.

debbriana · 23/04/2015 21:06

Oh dear! Am the culprit here. My 17months old loves. I don't think i will be stopping any time soon.

Fairenuff · 23/04/2015 21:07

Not bothered. Food that isn't packaged has been handled how many times?

MaryBerrysLostCherry · 23/04/2015 21:10

I hate seeing children ricocheting around the supermarket in an uncontrolled manner. Would much prefer them safely incarcerated in a trolley.

saltnpepa · 23/04/2015 21:11

My kids do it, I take their shoes off first though because if I didn't have kids I wouldn't want my food where some filthy toddler has had his shitty boots.I think that's just being considerate.

DownAtFraggleRock · 23/04/2015 21:11

But surely that's why you always put your fruit and veg in the bags provided?

trolleys are dirty - a kid in one won't make much diff IMHO

TwinkieTwinkle · 23/04/2015 21:12

...Seriously?
