There you go again guy
I'm "nasty"
You don't know me.
I just, have a different opinion.

Feminine · 25/04/2015 11:14

I guess we just need to wait for the supermarkets to adjust their safety information.
When l see a little diagram/illustration, pointing towards a child to sit in the food compartment - l might change my mind.
Shop says no.
Good enough for me.

Your opinion wasn't about whether you are ok with people putting their kids in trolleys. It wasn't about hygiene or safety. Your opinion was a judgement of their failure to properly parent their children and their apparent fear or controlling their children. As a parent of a toddler who really doors her best to double handedly do the shipping and look after my child, while maybe allowing my child to have some fun which doesn't affect other customers, I resent that. That wasn't an opinion, it's a judgement. The way you phased it was superior and judgemental. That's my opinion.

But it's rather like talking to a brick wall so I'll pop off now.

We all "do our best" guy.
You sound sorry for yourself now.
I get that shopping with small children is hard work.
I've been doing it for 17 years...
It does not give me the right to make up new rules regarding the trolley!

Sometimes I have 3 children in mine?? shopping trolleys are dirty, covered in germs from people's hands - I would be more concerned about that to be honest. They are exposed to God knows what when I they are parked up outside. The alternative to containing my children in a trolley is to have them running circuits around the shop, trust me keeping them safely inside the trolley is far better for all around me!

Because if you don't teach them that from an early age then as adults they'll just go to the supermarket and climb into the trolley and wonder what went wrong? Or they'll stand around holding a handful of onions and a pack of tomatoes and weeping because they've run out of hands to hold stuff?

This made me laugh, thanks for cheering me up Grin

This is also hilarious even though it's meant to be serious. I don't think I'm ever going to be able to look at a shopping trolley in the same way again.

I think we should lobby government to have a Trolley Code of Conduct written up and placed outside all supermarkets just in case any reckless individuals misuse their trolleys by placing small children inside them!!
