Very trivial discussion (so I know I am being unreasonable already Grin ), but I am reading a thread about nasty celebs from 2008 (google brought me there) and really enjoying the gossip... AIBU to ask who the nicest and vilest celebs are who you have met in real life?

ahbollocks, that's so adorable!

SistersofPercy · 19/04/2015 19:40

Just trying to think of a few more.

Had a pint with Oli Sykes and the lads from Bring me the horizon once at a really small gig in Sheffield. Hadn't realised at first who I was chatting away to. He was so nice and it was in the middle of him being vilified by the rock press as well.

My Chemical Romance were lovely, Gerard Way especially lovely to my DD, he kissed her hand. She was about ten at the time.
I also had a moment with Brian May at a small invite only gig. I turned around and he was behind me, he smiled, I smiled back then did a double take when I twigged who he was. He gave me a huge thumbs up and walked off laughing. Ralph Little was at the same gig, he was also a laugh.

ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 19/04/2015 19:40

Oh and Warwick Davis was lovely.

SlaggyIsland · 19/04/2015 19:40

londonrach I've also had a less than pleasant experience with Michael Palin so what you've said doesn't surprise me.
If you watch his travel programmes closely he's a nippy shit.

Slaggy. Glad it wasnt just me. He was vile!! Dh (massive fan) donated his books to oxfam. I cried and needed alots of hugs.

Idontseeanydragons · 19/04/2015 19:43

I am over the moon about Mark Rylance being lovely Grin he comes over as being a little grumpy tbh.

Koalafications · 19/04/2015 19:43

ahbollocks that's such a cute story!

ItsAliveItsElectric · 19/04/2015 19:45

DH works in a city centre hotel. He has met many celebs over the years. The cbeebies cast are all absolutely lovely and after the shows get v pissed and carry on. Andy is v v tall!
Boy George was horrible and complained about everything.
Derek Acorah was bloody rude to everyone and my DH went to shake his hand and he looked at it like it was a piece of shit.
Professsor Green is lovely
Katie Price and Peter Andre are nice but private

skillsandtea · 19/04/2015 19:47

Kevin McCloud (drool) - lovely. Went to his book signing when I was heavily pregnant with ds2 10 years ago and he signed my book to bump Smile.

The Hairy Bikers - also lovely. Saw them in the pub. Can't remember which ones which but the dark haired one was on the phone looking a bit stressed then told SIL and me that he's away from home for several days and the call was someone telling him there was a big leak at his house. He was still happy to have a pic taken with SIL who loves him.

ColdAsIceCubes · 19/04/2015 19:47

Cressida Cowell ( How to train your Dragon books) is just an absolute sweetheart. She took the time to speak to my ds and dd, to find out what inspired them, never have I seen such a passion for her work and for her fans! As a family we love her!!

Mitzeee · 19/04/2015 19:48

Ooh Tulisa is lovely too, very genuine and friendly. She gets bad press but she's a really lovely girl!

Chippednailvarnish · 19/04/2015 19:48

Planet I am so Envy

Koalafications · 19/04/2015 19:49

Katie Price and Peter Andre are nice but private

Private?!

Shock Grin Grin

LeBearPolar · 19/04/2015 19:49

Gordon Ramsay - met him at a book signing and he was lovely: really polite and told me how lovely my DS (then 3) was Grin

Antony Head - took my mum to see him in a production of Pirates of Penzance a few years ago, and he chatted away to us in the autograph queue afterwards. Gave my mum a kiss on the cheek because it was her birthday so then of course I demanded one too Grin Mind you, I strategically didn't mention Buffy but just talked about the production we'd just seen.

I was at college with Clare Balding, studying the same subject and in the same year, but she completely intimidated me (through no fault of her own!)

I was taught by Germaine Greer and she scared the life out of me.

DishwasherDogs · 19/04/2015 19:50

OrlandoWoolf, bit late to this but you must have been in the same year as my sister. She was in Richard Hammond's class too.
He went to art college I think and used to travel on the bus with dh.

ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 19/04/2015 19:51

Ooh and Ramon Blanc, helped my v elderly grandma down the stairs when they went for afternoon tea at his posh restaurant. And she said he smelled good.

bellybuttonfairy · 19/04/2015 19:51

I was in tesco and not concentrating and the checkout and pushed my trolley by mistake into the person infront of me. It was Charlotte church and she was lovely. Very beautiful and there was loads of alcohol in her trolley (pre kids).

Amy106 · 19/04/2015 19:52

Harrison Ford was very polite and friendly when I met him.

ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 19/04/2015 19:52

*Raymond Blanc. Dumbass phone

RiojaHaze · 19/04/2015 19:52

From colleagues who worked in their houses..Noel Edmonds is arrogant and rude.

Kate Moss is scatty and hyper and very beautiful but they all thought her mum was even better looking!

Vernon Kay was lovely but Tess Daly was rude and wears the trousers!

parsnipbob · 19/04/2015 19:58

Have met Michael Palin a good few times and I think he is lovely, sorry. He is quite a shy introverted man so I get why he might come off as aloof.

Cherie Blair: sort of ok but massive diva and money grabber.

Madamecastafiore · 19/04/2015 20:00

Matthew Vaughn = Rudest man I have ever had the misfortune to speak to.

Guy Ritchie = Totally lovely and polite.

Sting = Utter wankbag.

TheWaltzClogTeam · 19/04/2015 20:00

I think Mark Lamarr IS a nice person. Husband met him at a gig, and after a chat, husband told him that I really like him and i'd be so jealous, or something, so Mark took my number and rang me there and then. Honestly he couldn't have been nicer.

A big disappointment to me was Elvis Costello. I was invited to an after party, which was great, but he just sat there miserably, and was very unfriendly to everyone. I hope it was just a bad day.

parsnipbob · 19/04/2015 20:02

Oh and Emma Thompson. She was lovely.
