To Judge The Daylights Out Of DP?

queeneileen · 15/04/2015 18:30

I'm judging his food tastes. He's judging mine.

We had salad for tea last week (I'm eating salad now and it's reminded me) and I think salad is great for all the nibbly bits you add on: tomatoes, onions, pickled onions, sweetcorn, beetroot, peppers, mushrooms, carrot, coleslaw, mayo, etc.

Dp reckons it's just lettuce. With mayo. Thassit.

He says I'M the wrong one.

This is just the tip of the foody iceberg. He doesn't like the texture of onions, so I have to blend pasta sauces.

And he eats round food he doesn't like, and leaves it in a little pile.

And he doesn't understand the appeal of coffee or olives, as they're "too strong"

My heart loves him, my stomach says LTB.

Is he a man or a mouse?!

You need to both move into a hotel with a buffet, so that you can serve yourselves.

WrappedInABlankie · 15/04/2015 18:35

Salad is nice but no beetroot, pickled onion. Also no coffee Confused sorry

Lancelottie · 15/04/2015 18:36

I was totally baffled by what sort of 'round food' he was eating despite disliking it.

Then I read it properly.

I blame the heat.

Justusemyname · 15/04/2015 18:36

Serve up your lovely multi components salad and give him lettuce and Mayo. He'll soon learn.

FelixFelix · 15/04/2015 18:36

Mayo on a salad? Shock

sparklepopsicles · 15/04/2015 18:38

I think your salad sounds yummy though prefer salad dressing to mayo please Wink
definitely LTB Grin

AdoraBell · 15/04/2015 18:39

I'm with you other than the peppers. Those bastard things give me indigestion.

In fact, you can tell him I'm about to have a salad of quinoa, coconut, raisins and mango to go with my salmon. Followed by a good strong coffeeGrin

venusandmars · 15/04/2015 18:41

Sweetcorn in a salad is wrong. YABU

TedAndLola · 15/04/2015 18:42

Anyone who eats raw onion is BU.

queeneileen · 15/04/2015 18:43

It's moments like this that I appreciate we still live in separate houses.

I've eaten all the pickled things with today's salad and I fair stink of vinegar.

The worst bit is that this is the least fussy he's ever been...... his poor mum.

peppercold · 15/04/2015 18:46

Always space for sweet corn in a salad! And celery, bacon bits and cheese.

BeautyQueenFromMars · 15/04/2015 18:46

You're both wrong.

A salad is lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion (spring, preferably), and peppers. Ground sea salt, sesame seeds and milled flaxseed added to taste, and a vinaigrette if you're not having meat/eggs/fish/cheese with it.

Coffee isn't all that pleasant, and olives are the devil's testicles.

HTH

CaptainHolt · 15/04/2015 18:48

Olives are pointless balls of oil

Pickles on a salad? Carrot? Where's the avocado?

queeneileen · 15/04/2015 18:50

No avo's in.

He doesn't eat those either.

Or bananas. Or mushrooms.

ifgrandmahadawilly · 15/04/2015 18:54

I need to know his stance on croutons before I make my decision.

Glitterspy · 15/04/2015 19:07

I love this thread

TendonQueen · 15/04/2015 19:10

Salad in Britain is lettuce, tomato, cucumber, radishes, celery sticks in a stainless steel jug, squares of cheddar, and salad cream. Never mayo. Never sweetcorn. So you're both wrong. HTH Grin

whatsagoodusername · 15/04/2015 19:12

I am with your DP. I am well aware, however, that I am being unreasonable.

queeneileen · 15/04/2015 19:15

ifgrandma - no croutons.

Oh and he buys mild/medium cheese and I judge the everliving daylights out of him for that.

That's not happening when we move in together.

OP posts:
AdoraBell · 15/04/2015 19:18

He buys mild cheese Shock that's worse than decaf coffee!

Does this man have any redeeming features?

queeneileen · 15/04/2015 19:21

I know, right?!

I'm going to have to write a pros and cons list................ Wink

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 15/04/2015 19:29

Jeez, Lettuce and mayo, I have more than that in a salad and I hate most of the food you just mentioned.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 15/04/2015 19:29

I will defend mild cheese though.

Owllady · 15/04/2015 19:31

Lettuce isn't really that nutritious

MorrisZapp · 15/04/2015 19:31

DP and I have lived together for ten years. We shop, cook and eat separately.
