...to Andy's wedding?! I've seen this a few times now from DMs/DMILs - what are they thinking?? Shock

Well I know what Kim might say to some of the comments about her dress and the appearance of her guests. "Fucking have it you Mumsnet flash fucks!"

SirChenjin · 12/04/2015 11:33

Sparkling - can I join you in a froth of vitriol and bitter criticism? No point in simply being happy for the bride and groom when you could be critiquing their framing and outfits, I suppose.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 12/04/2015 11:33

I have a dim recollection that dh wore whit pants the bastard ;)

Grin derxa

She showed her true colours that day - fucking marvellous it was Grin

Christinayangstwistedsister · 12/04/2015 11:36

But the ice cream is white!!!!! Honest to god, some people will just not be told

fatlazymummy · 12/04/2015 11:36

This thread is hysterical. As if no one will be able to distinguish the bride if another guest wears white. It's funny how some bridesmaids wear white or ivory. Prince William must have been so confused when 2 women wearing long white dresses turned up at the church.
If any of my kids get married I will run my outfit past them for approval before I buy it. Isn't that what most people do?

derxa · 12/04/2015 11:39

SirChenjin
I liked her after that. Not so keen before.

Bakeoffcake · 12/04/2015 11:40

As Kim's mum also wore a white coat, I expect they all got together and agreed on a colour theme.

How very dare they agree to both wear white and the bride not have a major tantrumShock

Dowser · 12/04/2015 11:44

Mixed feelings about Kim's dress a bit like lady Diana. I'm sure she won't worry about my opinion.

They look very happy and I hope they have a long, loving and prosperous life together.

DowntownFunk · 12/04/2015 11:48

Judy looks fabulous and the bride looked radiant. I loved Kim's dress and her hair.

I drove through Dunblane on Friday because there was traffic congestion I wanted to avoid on the motorway.

I was touched by all the good luck and congratulations signs displayed by all the local businesses. Even M&S had one. And there was bunting. Made me feel quite cheerful Grin

AldiQ7 · 12/04/2015 11:48

Someone made a good point up thread - at a wedding all the men often wear the almost exact same outfit as the groom. No one frets about the upstaging or 'framing' Grin of the groom do they?

As I said, it all looked lovely, and I agree that it is nice to see Dunblane In the public conciousness for something really happy.

Some people just can't help themelseves from being bitchy I don't think.

DowntownFunk · 12/04/2015 11:51

Aldi I thought the same thing when driving through on Friday.

derxa · 12/04/2015 11:54

There was no framing at my wedding. Men wore a mixture of kilts, grey morning suits, black morning suits. Bridesmaids dresses a nightmare in mint. I wore a lovely meringue which I've still got hanging in my wardrobe. Fortunately we have some lovely pictures of me and DH one of which sits proudly on the mantlepiece 28 years later

fatlazymummy · 12/04/2015 11:57

Aldi it seems as if some people think a wedding is all about the bride ,and her being the 'centre of attention'. That's the only explanation I can think of.
To me a wedding is about the bride and groom equally, making their vows and their legal commitment towards each other.

SirChenjin · 12/04/2015 12:01

Agree. I think for some the wedding is the 'thing', a showpiece - when it's actually the day that marks the start of a marriage

Behooven · 12/04/2015 13:16

I topped my lacy gown and veil (Pronuptia if anyone remembers them) with a glittery tiara.

I loved my Tiara and wanted to wear it for ever. call me Amy

Mrsjayy · 12/04/2015 13:35

Salmotrutta · 12/04/2015 13:37

I remember Pronuptia!

Shenanagins · 12/04/2015 13:59

I thought they all looked so genuinely happy which makes a nice change to the usual posed sleb wedding photos.

DramaAlpaca · 12/04/2015 13:59

I bought my bridesmaids dresses in Pronuptia.

Oh, and my DM wore off-white to my wedding, looked absolutely stunning, and I didn't mind Grin

JugglingFromHereToThere · 12/04/2015 14:08

I agree she looked great but think a slightly more cream coloured coat might have been more appropriate - off whites are more flattering to most people anyway?
