My 16 yr old son is friends with a family who have just moved into the close next to ours and we were invited round for coffee. My partner left as he was fuming and I stayed for the sake of my son but I was seething. They are a family of 8 and the mum is pregnant again, they were so brazen and gloated that their 4 bedroom house is paid for by housing benefit (we have the same in the next close and the rent is £800 pcm)
He has never worked and hasn't long been released from prison. The children had all the gadgets from ipad to ps4. She said she has never worked either as she loves to be pregnant and plans on having more. Now you will have seen from previous threads I don't benefit bash but this is disgusting how can this be allowed. My son has been invited by them to go fishing on their boat, i don't want him anywhere near them. my partner works damn hard to pay the rent and our band f council tax and these people not only get everything given to them but they openly gloat about it. This is what is wrong with this bloody world Angry Angry

I have not disappeared I am just not very good today.
I apologise to those I have offended that really wasn't my intention, I still believe that anyone defrauding the system is wrong and looking back on my post I could've chosen my words more wisely. If I was being wound up then more fool me for falling for it but she appeared deadly serious. we are all entitled to our opinions, we may not agree with each other but that is life. once again I apologise for offending anyone.

Plenty of hard working people need tax credit top ups, simply because wages are so low. Unless some are implying that vital workers such as TAs, care assistants and shop workers shouldn't have children?

How do you know they're defrauding the system, dizzylass?

Fifis25StottieCakes · 09/04/2015 18:59

Have you got no comments re the thread you started regarding the gypsies on the school field op?

TenerifeSea · 09/04/2015 19:53

Defrauding the system?! No bloody evidence of that except in your judgmental mind.

Oswin · 09/04/2015 19:54

That's exactly what liitlemonster thinks basgetti. I rarely get as annoyed by a poster as I do by her. Consistently offensive.

SolidGoldBrass · 09/04/2015 20:24

Just out of interest, OP, do you hate gay people as well? Or Muslims? Or do you think feminism has Gone Too Far?
You've started quite well, with gyppos and dole scum. Maybe you could have a pop at obesity next, or rape myths, and save the hard line racism, homophobia and misogyny for a couple of levels up?

NeedsAsockamnesty · 09/04/2015 22:11

cap obviously isn't enough and there are so many exceptions to it anyway.

A few people have refered to this so I'm going to reiterate. There are not so many exceptions to it in essence there are only 4 these are

Household member in receipt of one of a few fairly hard to get disability related benefits.

A benefit claim made by working adults who are working enough hours to qualify for the exemption.

A war widow/er

A claim made after at least 12 months of continious employment and that's time limited to 39 weeks worth of exemption.

If already claiming, then there should be a policy that no extra will be given. People who work don't get a pay rise for every child so it would be no different to that. There would need to be a time frame in place for future claims otherwise people would pick up temp work for a few weeks then simply claim again. It would soon stop people having children that they don't support.

See above it would need more than a few weeks work

I hope the son does get to break the cycle and have a career but most don't.

Untrue there are very few long term third generation unemployed people in receipt of benefits going by the DWP's own records

I live in a 1 bed HA flat in band A. My rent is £ 384 pm. So a 4 bed in band F for £800 seems v good. I could imagine bragging about lifestyle is irking the OP but there are always going to be a small % of people abusing the system, just because they can. I would rather that though, than there not being a welfare system or a punitive one that punishes those who are unlucky enough to need support.

Coyoacan · 10/04/2015 04:43

It would soon stop people having children that they don't support

The sad thing is that people really believe this bullshit. In fact, anyone who has children to get benefits is equally likely to have children for other stupid reasons. I live in Mexico and there is no benefit system, but there are still people who have children without any means of support. Not many, just like there are not many people who have children for benefits. But the idea of depriving the entire country of this very necessary support because of a few idiots is sheer madness.

claraschu · 10/04/2015 05:05

I am interested in this 16 year old who takes both parents along on his playdates, and listens to their opinions about the desirability of his cronies.

You're aware, of course, that saying something nasty in a "nicer way" is still nasty, right? Hmm

HoneyDragon · 10/04/2015 08:57

Interesting read.

Can some one clarify if the goats on the boat are normal goats. Or Staffordshire Fighting Goats on a boat? (That live in the house with a probable moat).

CalamitouslyWrong · 10/04/2015 09:12

I don't know what kind of goats they are, but they're tucking into a lovely bowl of oats and trying to keep away from the stoats.

HoneyDragon · 10/04/2015 09:16

Are they benefit oats and the big blue stoats? That fight Weasels in Red Coats?

CalamitouslyWrong · 10/04/2015 09:22

The big blue stoats fight weasels in red stoats on floats off the coast at john o'groats. Obviously.

I'm sure the OP will tell us that they're super fancy oats, not benefit oats.

Salmotrutta · 10/04/2015 09:23

But do we know if the goats will gloat?

Like their owners?

Salmotrutta · 10/04/2015 09:24

And too many oats will make them bloat Sad

Inertia · 10/04/2015 13:00

Julia Donaldson has missed a trick here- there' s a follow-up to Smartest Giant In Town just waiting to be written. HoneyDragon has even started it off for her.

Inertia · 10/04/2015 13:01

If the goat eats too many oats, will it still float in the moat?

Inertia · 10/04/2015 13:02

Honeydragon, I think you'll find that Staffordshire Fighting Goats are renowned for their ability to care for children. The Goatpen Club call them Nanny Goats.

NeedsAsockamnesty · 10/04/2015 13:02

A goat once stole my flap jack
