AIBU to feel sad about being dumped by my deceased dh

I had a reading with a medium yesterday. This medium is quite famous, very expensive and it took me a while to get an appointment. She was the real deal, she had written down a load of information before I even arrived. She asks the persons name and aged at death that's it. She asks you not to say anything at all during the reading. Basically I feel like I have been dumped by a deceased person! My dh said it is time for me to move on, he still loves me, it's just a different shade of love! I'm feeling really really sad:( We were so so in love, i can understand him wanting me to move on, but being told he loves me in a different shade is fucking with my head a bit! Am I loosing it? It has been 12 months. Our children are Tweens, teens or adult. Xx

I believe you, I've had readings that have included info that couldn't possibly be known.
They've never asked questions, just given me info and I've always been aware of not giving any clues or leading them anywhere.

You haven't been dumped, I think your DH just wants you to focus on your future and to live your life Flowers

She was lying. 100% pure bullshit so you think she's great and go back with more money for another session. Utterly vile. Makes me so angry that they pray on vulnerable grieving people. It really is the lowest of the low.

Your husband loved you. He loved you during all the time you spent together and he loved you when he died. He still loves you. He will always love you.

She sounds like a scammer. Why would you say that to someone. Or maybe she was misunderstood and she meant he wanted you to move on. A year is no time at all. you take as long as you need and don't take any notice of what's she said if it hurts you. That's not why you visit a medium to feel pain. Sorry for your loss.

Interesting piece here about how these "mediums" work ... in particular it explains how they're able to convince people that they "know" something they couldn't possibly have done:

Sugar, Lois: you are trying to tell OP what her husband is feeling, when you can't conceivably know. Sugar in particular appears to be working on the assumption that this pile of bullshit was genuine when blatantly it was not. Abusing people who call you on it doesn't make it any better.

This woman has spouted utter nonsense and she knows it.

I know of a "medium/psychic" (or whatever it is she calls herself) - she has had one disastrous relationship after another, made endless bad judgements in her life and her life is a constant drama.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but surely if she could communicate with people on the other side who cared, wouldn't they have helped steer her down the right path occasionally instead of letting her lurch from one failed abusive relationship to the next?

Hello OP
Sorry to read about your DH and that you're feeling like this - do let us know if you'd like us to move this thread out of AIBU into relationships or bereavement perhaps?
A big old ahem to the rest of you

A keyring that was a gift to his step daughter from her father's new girlfriend's sister in Ireland. That she's already lost. It's pretty tenuous isn't it?

I'm really sorry that this woman has added to your grief. But she has NOT been in communication with your husband. Please do not allow this bullshit to colour your feelings for him.
