To be really pissed off?!

We went to my MIL house the other day for a cup of tea and to see their new puppy. I was sitting on the sofa and the dog kept on jumping on me, I made it clear I wasn't impressed. They told him off but didn't really bother to much. Then he jumped up again and bit a hole in my brand new tights. The little shit! My MIL saw it happen and told him off, she saw I was annoyed and said " oh where they expensive" to which I said, actually yes!
But then that was it, it wasn't mentioned again. AIBU to be pissed off about this?

You should skin the puppy to make new tights.

DutchMummy88 · 28/03/2015 22:57

@babyonboob
I appreciate your understanding, I had visions of strangling him. Definitely not a dog person, and my tights were £35 :(

To make it worse, it's the cutest little sausage dog!

Never mind. If you keep on thinking about the ripped tights it'll take your mind off next time, when he shits in your handbag.

Alisvolatpropiis · 28/03/2015 22:58

You spent £35 on tights?! Shock

Trunkisareshite · 28/03/2015 22:59

£35- you were had! Do you mean trousers?

DutchMummy88 · 28/03/2015 23:02

They are really nice tights and they normally last me all autumn and winter!

OttiliaVonBCup · 28/03/2015 23:02

You spent what on tights?

For that alone YABU.

Lay off the pup.

RedSoloCup · 28/03/2015 23:05

OMG yabu to spend £35 on tights???

Puppies just chew things up, ours is 2yo and I hate to think how much damage he's caused tbh....

msgrinch · 28/03/2015 23:05

£35 on tights. Shock Tights?! I have £5 ones that have lasted years. You've been ripped off

pictish · 28/03/2015 23:06

£35 on tights! Yabvu.
Puppies are so cute.

DutchMummy88 · 28/03/2015 23:08

Am I the only one on mumsnet who buys one pair of nice tights a year? Surely not?

OP posts:
heycarrot · 28/03/2015 23:08

Shock at tights. That will teach you showing off with ya fancy tights. Mil is teaching you lessons of frugality.

SaucyJack · 28/03/2015 23:08

How fricking nice can tights be?!

OttiliaVonBCup · 28/03/2015 23:10

You're on your own there with your nice tights.

Ladymoods · 28/03/2015 23:10

I'd choose some nice tights over a puppy any day.

nooyearnooname · 28/03/2015 23:10

Can we see a picture of the puppy? Grin

Ladymoods · 28/03/2015 23:11

Can I see the tights?

maliaki · 28/03/2015 23:13

I'm surprised you can get tights that last that long, how thick are they?

Next time wear joggers or jeans and take a bone or toy for him that he can chew away from you.

Casmama · 28/03/2015 23:13

"One pair of nice tights a year" yes as far as I'm concerned-£35 is crazy for tights.

SinglePringle · 28/03/2015 23:21

I've got tights that cost £50. I wouldn't wear them to see a puppy. What with them being jumpy n'all.

PUPPY POWER

cakedup · 28/03/2015 23:22

£35 for a pair of tights and they're not even puppy proof!

MrsTedCrilly · 28/03/2015 23:25

You'll know for next time! Smile I wear scruffy clothes around puppies and kittens as they just can't control their excitement! Had many a tights ruined..

Koalafications · 28/03/2015 23:25

Why go to see a puppy and then complain when it acts like a puppy?

It's the equivalent of "AIBU to be pissed off that I went to visit my friends new baby and it cried and it upset my previous ears"

Big shock, eh?

Koalafications · 28/03/2015 23:25

*precious

ShadowStone · 28/03/2015 23:27

£35???

I didn't know tights that expensive even existed!

I did think you were being completely unreasonable at first, but your annoyance is much more understandable now you've said how much the tights were.

But the lesson to learn here is to wear something more robust like jeans the next time you visit the puppy.
