Is a nasty piece of work. Didn't see the necessity in him saying to Ed Miliband people see you as a Geek! What's that got to do with him running the country. Hate personal insults
I thought Ed did very well. He already has my vote as I am strong labour supporter.

I really fancy ed balls- (proper lust) - but I find it best to keep these things to myself!

HoraceCope · 27/03/2015 11:09

i wonder if Ed will get the sympathy vote

Stratter5 · 27/03/2015 12:01

I quite fancy him too, Clock; he has very short legs though. Lovely man in person, and I'm all for politicians getting savaged, lying, self serving fuckers.

workadurka · 27/03/2015 12:09

The personal insults about Miliband being a geek were out of order. I don't remember him saying to Cameron that people think he's an egg faced sweaty chinned twat.

HoraceCope · 27/03/2015 12:11

condom head, cameron

slug · 27/03/2015 12:15

Surely being called a geek by the person who presents university Challenge is a bit of a backhanded compliment?

squoosh · 27/03/2015 12:19

To be honest he was probably doing him a favour by addressing the geek thing, giving Miliband a chance to answer all the childish heckles he's received.

Capricorn76 · 27/03/2015 12:35

I don't think Paxman is a good interviewer. He appears more interestsd in his own ego and enhancing his status as an attack dog interviewer than actually listening to the the interviewee.

He believes his own hype and is the type of person who never listens, they just wait for their chance to speak.

If then plan is to always knock down politicians it just means they'll always try to give bland non-answers.

strangechild · 27/03/2015 14:16

Whoever did Cameron's make up last night is definitely a Labour supporter, the man looked orange.

itsbetterthanabox · 27/03/2015 15:38

It makes me sad how they have all been highly rehearsed and trained on how to answer questions that it just is so disingenuous.
There's little things they do like ask themselves a question and then answer it. I know it's to deflect questions but it's just hard to watch.
If they didn't have that 'interview training' I would be much more interested in watching debates and believe what they are saying.

itsbetterthanabox · 27/03/2015 15:40

I can actually understand why paxman responds as he does because no matter what he asks they revert to the script so the answer often doesn't apply. Must be frustrating.

drudgetrudy · 27/03/2015 16:03

"Jeremy Paxman is a nasty peice of work" is not a personal insult Clock it is more a description based on observation.

CunningCat · 27/03/2015 16:05

He is a condescending smug twat IMO!

JemimaPuddlePop · 27/03/2015 16:07

he would be better off reverting to "we" and bringing this back to "what will labour do" rather than "is Ed weak, untrustworthy (even as regards his own family) and ineffectual"

Agree 100%

If he'd talked about what Labour will do, it would have been much more engaging.

The fact that all he talked about was what he would do gave a whole different slant on it. Because the impression he gives is that alone he'd struggle to find his own way home, never mind run the Country.

ilovechristmas1 · 27/03/2015 17:58

cant really have much respect for Paxman after it came to light a few years ago that he advertised for home help on a Romanian website was paying his domestic staff below minimum wage

says it all really, and people like him

I generally like the way Paxo interviews however I thought the ending jibe at Ed Miliband 'Are you ok Ed?', was what you would expect from a tabloid interview. It was unnecessary and ridiculously childish. Jeremy Paxman must surely cringe when he watches a replay .... I cringed when I watched it.

funnyossity · 27/03/2015 20:29

He can't cringe or he'd have changed his ways by now!
