Neighbour won't give me my parcel!

I've problems with this neighbour before over parking.

She's had a parcel of mine since Wednesday last week and I know she is in but she is refusing to open the door. Wibu if I knocked the door down? It's a present I need to give to someone on Saturday.

I know a few of us are enjoying this thread a bit like a soap opera, but I really feel for you Nanny, it's so unsettling when your previously happy neighbourhood suddenly has someone odd disrupting your life.

Have you had an opportunity to speak to Customer Services from the retailer you bought the item in the parcel from? I do think it's their responsibility to sort this out. The only trouble with that is of course that they are most likely just going to send you a replacement, this time to be delivered to you or to a designated safe alternative address, and won't bother trying to recover the original parcel as it's not cost effective for them.

DH is a copper and said they would deal with it under the specific postal act, not general theft. That might just be them but he said he's dealt with the crime quite a few times. Then he sighed. Grin

ihatelego · 26/03/2015 16:39

if she gets away with this then what else will she be willing to do..

EmmaGellerGreen · 26/03/2015 17:47

Stupid police. Quote Section 1 subsection 1 of Theft Act 1968. Says DH whose job means that he knows too much about crime.

irretating · 26/03/2015 17:56

Turn her in to frog Wink

RandomNPC · 26/03/2015 18:00

Would the police use that big red hammer thing on her door? Cool.

SideOrderofChips · 26/03/2015 18:44

Ihad a feeling this wouldnt be the end with her Op :(

UncleT · 26/03/2015 18:47

The Police certainly are wrong about the giving it to her. She knows it's not for her, she is obliged not to withold it but is doing so. They need to deal with her behaviour, not just the withholding of your parcel.

CheeseandGherkins · 26/03/2015 18:53

I followed your other thread and that was bad enough, but now this too, I would be really pissed off. I think you should call the police again. Also, could this constitute harassment?

Phoenixashes · 26/03/2015 19:38

What is wrong with the women!

Hmm
mindthegap79 · 26/03/2015 21:53

Any news??

CrapBag · 26/03/2015 22:01

Bloody hell this woman is a piece of work isn't she!

I wouldn't let this go. She'll think she can walk all over you.

SugarOnTop · 26/03/2015 22:24

i'd be tempted to slash her car tires repeatedly......whilst keeping a camera trained on my own car Grin

or shoving stink bombs through her letterbox.....

or wait for her to return and then make sure she can't close the front door - either she will give the parcel or ring the police - either way she will not get away with it

HellKitty · 26/03/2015 22:46

I was totally against the glitterbomb in another thread but this ndn is screaming out for one Grin

DakotaFanny · 26/03/2015 23:01

How old is this woman OP? Any signs of family or friends? What a perculiar woman she is...

CuttingOutTheCrap · 27/03/2015 00:11

What a nightmare! Op, do you know anything about where she lived previously and why she left? can her ex neighbours share the secret to getting rid of her?

MrsStark1 · 27/03/2015 00:43

Oh no crazy woman.

I would keep a diary of everything that happens just in case it escalates in the future.

Yoo much to read- can someone tell me what happened when the OP contacted the seller of the item?

lunar1 · 27/03/2015 06:55

I wonder how long it will be till you see her wearing the jumper!

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/03/2015 07:03

The police are wrong. Complain to the local inspector, their details are on the Internet.

BitOutOfPractice · 27/03/2015 07:13

Beitou if you think the op is a troll, report her. Otherwise...
