I often wonder which posters are 'friends' off Mumsnet - if not real life friends then facebook friends. It must alter the way you post if you are friends with other posters.

ESD's original name was SPsomething. The 'something' bit varied from time to time. Completely different poster from Stranded.

I hope this is a misunderstanding and Derek is reinstated quickly, I found her irreverent, funny and honest. Also admired her gutsiness with the tractor nappers.

When I joined her SP name had CliffingoverMN at the end of it, or something like that.

I don't know about anyone else but MN has changed. After a three year break it just seems as if MN is full of special snowflakes who need a virtual hug anytime anyone says something they don't like.

I hope ESD isn't banned, she's one of the good ones, like Buppy. She used to be SP (TheSinglePringle), then variations of that until that name got trolled in the nastiest way. She's honest, funny, and her tales of the 'tude are hilarious.

I think what is happening now is that regular longstanding posters are name changing so often that confusions like this will eventually stop happening because no-one will have a fucking clue who anyone else is anyway.

I had the same user name for years and now I NC constantly. I have about 12 atm that I switch back and forth from practically on a weekly basis. None of them have a persona attached to them really, because I don't stick with any of them for long enough at one time to get 'known.'

I like it this way. There is less grief and fewer crossed wires. I don't get that warm fuzzy feeling of being in a clique and getting name checked any more but very few of my old muckers are still here anyway, or if they still here they are they are incognito, like me. I really don't mind it. Since MN became so huge it's got less funny, less clever and more downmarket. It suits me to be completely anonymous now.

I rather like ESD. Hope it all gets sorted.

I do hope this isn't because of the 'delicate flower' poster that told ESD/FuckitBucket that her username made her feel "ill" whenever she saw it because of the word 'fuck'. Because I expect that would be a terrible mistake that would lead to lots of MNers changing their names to sweary ones and we wouldn't want that now would we?

Just wanted to add my support. The tude is the same age as my son and his antics (and her reactions to them) make me laugh. She always starts funny, lighthearted threads or manages to put overwrought serious threads into perspective.
