I hope she's back soon, I had no idea that ESD and FIB were one of the same but I remember thinking that I enjoyed reading their (her) posts, she's funny.

If ESD said it to me, I wouldn't report her because I'm not offended by such things. I'd be thinking up a suitably acerbic response. But that's me...not everyone is so...robust?
MN have to think of the better good for everyone because they don't want their site to be an actual nest of vipers.

I do think there is some inconsistency in who gets banned and who doesnt. I've seen plenty of really awful behaviour that gets no more than a few deletions and then this. An email warning that you need to back off else the suspension button gets pushed would be a fairer approach.

I like Jeremy Clarkson and Derek.

My friend, who was a long time BESH on here, was banned last year. No email, she's got no idea why she was banned.

Well considering some posters manage to repeatedly derail threads while keeping just within the guidelines under a veneer of faux politeness and goading away like mad I think that ESD is at least honest and above board. I hope she's reinstated very soon.

Well I don't like Andre Rieu or Jeremey Clarkson. In fact, my worst nightmare would be an Andre Rieu concert hosted by Jetemy Clarkson

Yes "uppity fuck" is rude, but so is any phrase that includes swear words. Its no worse than regular phrases used on here.

Calling someone that as a personal attack is against the guidelines, which is fair enough, and anyone attacked in that way should report if they want to. But the phrase itself isn't any more violent than anything else on here.

There's a big difference between someone saying 'you're just being a proper uppity fuck' and someone writing a medium length post describing what someone's perceived errors have been, before ending it with a pretty pointed 'goady little fuck' when that poster has long since left the thread.

It's dismissive, and comes across as a bit vicious. There's not much room for misinterpretation there.

Or someone saying (again without humour) 'see, the word twat was created for people like you'. Or similar.

No emoticons, just a defensive nastiness. Maybe they were right to be pissed off but a lot of people manage being 'goaded' without riposte, or at least without obscene riposte.

Well, my emails go to my phone immediately. I always have my phone with me, I am not always on MN. Contrary to appearances.
