Pear Shaped by Adam Blain. my 44 year old husband has written a book about his aggressive brain tumour. its frankly hilarious - i know, it shouldnt be. it is very dark humour. you can download it from amazon and it would be wonderful if his writing could reach as many people as possible

This is an amazing book, very witty and well written. Selected to better understand the possible emotions of a close friend who has recently been diagnosed with the same tumour but turned out to be a joyful read despite the sad subject. Lots of the content is just very funny and if laughter is really the best medicine Adam deserves to kick this nasty big C into touch. I wish him and the family all the luck in the world. Thank you so much for making a difference to people like me struggling to understand and be positive

Lu Did you hear Christian O'Connell recommend the book on the Absolute Radio breakfast show this morning? He said he was going to put the details on twitter.

thanks back2two, glad you are enjoying it, yes its just what he is like, he has a lovely, self deprecating sense of humour. please tell your friends and family, and if you would like to review it/tweet about it, that would be amazing, we are relying on word of mouth!

OP - how is everything going? Do you have a Barmitzvah coming up? Maybe a welcome distraction?

thismumismad · 07/07/2015 15:43

I've not read all the thread yet but you don't need a kindle just the app to read kindle books, just go to Google play. Samsung have their own kindle app.

Butteredparsnips · 07/07/2015 15:59

Just read the extract and Adam's humour shines through; I can see this is going to be a roller-coaster of a read, funny and thought provoking at the same time. I have retweeted it and hope it continues to be widely read.

Best Wishes to you and your family.
