Pear Shaped by Adam Blain. my 44 year old husband has written a book about his aggressive brain tumour. its frankly hilarious - i know, it shouldnt be. it is very dark humour. you can download it from amazon and it would be wonderful if his writing could reach as many people as possible

best wishes to your family

patterkiller · 26/03/2015 19:31

Sending my best wishes to you all. I have cried and laughed and spent my morning off unable to put it down. We went through something similar some years ago so made it all the more funny and sad. I will be recommending to my nearest and dearest.

Lu, he needs to tweet people with a big following and ask them to retweet or get them to read it.

lu9months · 26/03/2015 21:34

thanks countess, any suggestions of who to tweet?

Bought tonight after reading this thread - and have read it in one sitting... Excellent account of life with (and without) a tumour. Having lost two good friends to similar in the last year, I could identify with this so much..!
Every good wish to you and your family - will recommend to as many people as I can Flowers and/or Wine for you

321zerobaby · 26/03/2015 21:56

Just finished it, with a little sob. We have a friend going through similar, and it's told me all I wanted to know without having to ask him questions that might be too personal/awkward/nosey. Thank you.

lu9months · 26/03/2015 21:56

thanks bikket, much appreciated, its great to hear you are spreading the word about the book, it means so much to adam to hear people are enjoying it

Hi OP. I finished it last night - it was just as brilliant as people on here said it was.
Off to review it now Smile

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 27/03/2015 09:11

I've reviewed on Goodreads and Amazon. Mumsnet Reviews didn't work when I tried to add it on here, will try again later.

This is a good article about someone who made his book a bestseller using social media.

lu9months · 27/03/2015 21:10

thanks countess, thats a really helpful article. we are twitter novices, so just working out how best to promote the book via social media. all this advice is so useful

I just bought it for my Kindle. It was $4.50. It only has 1 review on the US site, I will review it on there and Goodreads when I've finished it.
