Pear Shaped by Adam Blain. my 44 year old husband has written a book about his aggressive brain tumour. its frankly hilarious - i know, it shouldnt be. it is very dark humour. you can download it from amazon and it would be wonderful if his writing could reach as many people as possible

Am halfway through, and very difficult to put it down. He comes across wonderfully. Just back from the annual punt.

I'll do a review when I'm finished too. I buy my kindle stuff based on reviews, so hopefully that will help. I'll fb it too.

bumbleymummy · 29/03/2015 16:31

I read it in one sitting too :) I've recommended it to a few people.

Sarine1 · 29/03/2015 19:18

OP - thank you - what an inspiration. Such a difficult subject and time for you all but Adam deals with it with humour, insight and great courage. Bought it last night and would thoroughly recommend it.

Whatthefucknameisntalreadytake · 29/03/2015 22:09

Bought, read, enjoyed :)

albertcamus · 29/03/2015 22:18

So true, one day at a time

lu9months · 30/03/2015 10:37

thanks so much albert, whatthe and sarine, please consider reviewing, sharing on facebook, tweeting etc. i am particularly keen to reach people overseas - we have had a few sales in america and australia but not many. if you have friends or family abroad, could you share with them? thanks for the amazing reviews!

Bought it and read it out aloud to my DP as he was driving us down to my cousins funeral....who sadly passed away from bowel cancer this month.

That's the third person since Christmas to die from this horrible, horrible illness.

I hope your husband licks it good and proper Lu

notarehearsal · 31/03/2015 08:25

its no 1 in doctors and medicine humour! but sales are dropping off and I am not sure how to get more publicity . any publicist/marketing people with any ideas? adam is 45 today - we weren't sure last year if he would reach this, so its a happy and sad day

Will definitely read when I sort out kindle for my phone. Will find him
on Twitter in the meantime.

Have taken a break from mumsnet in recent weeks... Recently got diagnosed with grade 3 brain tumour myself. Clicked on mumsnet for some light relief and look what I stumble across. Why I keep coming back.

Black humour all the way for me too - laughing keeps me sane while the world is flipping me over.

Good luck for your husband and happy birthday.

lu9months · 02/04/2015 22:05

thankyou mingin, and sorry to hear about your diagnosis. hope things go very well for you
