to not stop hanging my bras on the line

I'm in shock.

Beautiful day here. Was hanging out my washing and having a chat with next door neighbour who was out in the garden with her dd.

I pegged out 2 of my bras among everything else. Conversation was drawing to an end so I made to go back inside when she said 'oh I've been meaning to mention your underwear'

She went on to ask me refrain from hanging out my bras, her husband found them 'distracting'. I sort of when 'eh um eh' and she said 'well, cheerio, nice chatting' leaving me in the garden, puzzled.

I am an f cup but surely my bras aren't distracting. Her husband isn't in during the day. Wtf? They are similar in age to me, early 30s. Always been civil in the last 3 years they've lived next door, friendly but nit in and out of each other's houses or anything.

They are just normal bras!

CupidStuntSurvivor only a particular breed of weird pervert neighbour would come into your garden to check that they're damp just made me crease up laughing Grin

MostlyCake · 20/03/2015 14:16

I actually don't hang my bras on the line.....but I think I will now!! OP you might have started a quiet revolution!

littlehouseinthebigwoods · 20/03/2015 14:33

Am I the only person who is embarrassed to hang their undies on the line?
That's my issue though. This is just bonkers!!

SpringTown46 · 20/03/2015 14:42

If your neighbour never hangs her own washing outside then I would strongly suspect that the issue is actually peculiar to her, not necessarily due to her husband.

SpringTown46 · 20/03/2015 14:44

Do you have a DP/DH?

OP:"You've given be a grwat idea for a start up business!"
MrsNDN: "Really? What business?"
OP: "Well, you made me realise you can't be the only woman who is embarassed to dry her smalls in her garden, and so I am offering a postal service, washing intimate items of clothing."
MrsNDN: "But I said...!"
OP: "Yes, of course you can use the service too, and obviously there will be no postal charges to you! Grin"

TrueBlueYorkshire · 20/03/2015 15:19

To be honest woman's lacy bits are fascinating!

SuperFlyHigh · 20/03/2015 15:31

What a blooming (bloomers?!) cheek!

If they ask say doctor, bra shop or whatever recommends you air dry them as good for your bust area and also good for the bras rather than drying them inside or tumble drying them.

I'd do as some others say the most gaudy pervy crotchless knickers and peep hole bras would go the length of the line, and I'd ensure one maybe blew over by mistake into neighbours garden - oh that breeze sorry! Grin

peggyundercrackers · 20/03/2015 15:31

im surprised so many people think the mans a perv - speak about innocent until proven guilty! poor bloke, hes probably never given your bras a second look.

it sounds more like she thinks your common because you hang out your underwear and she doesn't but she is telling you in a roundabout way...

prawnballs · 20/03/2015 15:52

I would start pegging your washing out topless - that would give her husband something to get distracted about ha ha!

ScotsWhaHae · 20/03/2015 18:08

Is it common?

Yes, I have a dh.

FryOneFatManic · 20/03/2015 18:32

Just wait for her to come and ask again. Cos she will, as I bet in her mind she asked you nicely last time, so of course you have to do what she's asked.

Definitely her with the issue.

Pandsbear · 20/03/2015 19:04

Just hilarious!

SpringTown46 · 21/03/2015 09:30

Ask her if she finds your DH's underpants, erm, errr, distracting...?

Fleecyleesy · 21/03/2015 10:43

Your neighbours sound like a pair of utter fiends Shock.

However I'd not hang the bras out after that. The problem is her husband but it sounds like she's upset at him fantasising about your bra/boobs. Which is nasty for both of you.
