to not stop hanging my bras on the line

I'm in shock.

Beautiful day here. Was hanging out my washing and having a chat with next door neighbour who was out in the garden with her dd.

I pegged out 2 of my bras among everything else. Conversation was drawing to an end so I made to go back inside when she said 'oh I've been meaning to mention your underwear'

She went on to ask me refrain from hanging out my bras, her husband found them 'distracting'. I sort of when 'eh um eh' and she said 'well, cheerio, nice chatting' leaving me in the garden, puzzled.

I am an f cup but surely my bras aren't distracting. Her husband isn't in during the day. Wtf? They are similar in age to me, early 30s. Always been civil in the last 3 years they've lived next door, friendly but nit in and out of each other's houses or anything.

They are just normal bras!

I really can't believe she was thick enough had the audacity to come out with that!

Do not stop hanging them out. If she says anything else then tell her it isn't your problem that her husband has a bra fetish.

Charlesroi · 19/03/2015 14:03

Loving the wonky lawn stripes. Grin

Perhaps he is, of an evening, in the habit of gazing out of the window, cracking one off and wiping it on the curtains? Maybe she's just thinking of preserving the state of her soft furnishings?
I wouldn't be inviting them over for dinner anyway.

TwinkieTwinkle · 19/03/2015 14:04

Buy some Agent Provocateur and Ann Summers stuff. He will probably implode at the sight of them!

Fromparistoberlin73 · 19/03/2015 14:05

NO, WAY

he is a fucking pervert

tomorrow go and buy a red lace nipples and crotchless catsuit, buy a few

hang DAILY

specialsubject · 19/03/2015 14:05

file under 'unhinged' and ignore.

TwinkieTwinkle · 19/03/2015 14:06

Or explode... Grin Yes, I went there...

Topseyt · 19/03/2015 14:07

Make your own sorry card if you go that route - with a photo of your bras on the front of it (pegged out on the line of course).

Ooh OP, I've got a couple of lovely lacy bras that I've outgrownBlushGrin.

Should I post them on??

I've got a rotary line iyswim & always put underwear in the middle.

Not to hide it but so that the heavier stuff goes on the outside.

How easy is it for your neighbour to see your washing?

Is he having to make an effort to look??

Can't believe that she said something to you.

At the least she should have told him that if he was "distracted" he could tell you himself!!

YouBetterWerk · 19/03/2015 14:10

That is priceless.
I am totally in support of PP's ideas. Hang some gimp masks out while you're at it.

TipseyTorvey · 19/03/2015 14:10

This has made my day Grin. I wonder if the wife gets dressed in another room so he's never seen underwear before. How old are this couple?

CMOTGilbertBlythe · 19/03/2015 14:11

I feel sorry for her, imagine having a husband that was such a raging ogler that you have to worry about the neighbour's laundry.

Blatherskite · 19/03/2015 14:13

I'd hang them out as you have been doing but get an old white tea towel and a sharpie and write "Stop staring at my bras" on it to block the view for the poor, distracted nutjob man Wink

miniavenger · 19/03/2015 14:14

Lol, I'd wash all my undies, bras and sex clothes and hang them out! Definitely her issue OP

YellowTulips · 19/03/2015 14:15

I'd use it as an excuse to buy to fab new underwear Smile that would absolutely be put on the line.

Then I'd hack the nipple sections off my old bra's and then put them out on the line Grin wonder how distracting that would be!

Lol! That's so funny, not to mention ridiculous! Grin I hang my bras out there admittedly I'm nowhere near an F cup but still and if anyone said my bras were distracting and not to hang them up, I'm afraid I'd have to get some leopard print ones or something, and some crotchless pants up there too just for the laugh! Grin

EeekEeekEeekEeek · 19/03/2015 14:18

Next time you see them out together, cheerfully and loudly 'apologise' to him for the bras. 'I'm SO SORRY, I had NO IDEA that you were LOOKING AT MY BRAS and getting all HOT AND BOTHERED about them. Yes, your wife told me. Oh, really? Well, she definitely said they were distracting you . . . yes, she thought it would be better if I didn't hang them out, for your sake . . . I tell you what, I'll just leave you to it.'

MrsNutella · 19/03/2015 14:19

This is brilliant! I would have probably mumbled a similar response op. But the mind boggles!

And are you sure you're an F cup? Perhaps you would like to try out a bra intervention and get some gigantic cupped bras so that you could hang them on your line instead.

I'd also be willing to donate some no longer required thanks babies lacy things for you to hang on your line? Perhaps the neighbour's DH is just really desperately in need of some light relief??? Shock

The idea of wonky lawn lines made me spit out a bit of coffee on my iPad.

Tunna · 19/03/2015 14:20

I'd get an old bra, and turn it into a bird feeder, fill the cups with fat balls and nuts that the local wildlife will go crazy for.

Then the next time you see her say that you've given her words a lot of thought and so not to be distracted by your bras he can look at the lovely tits instead Wink

Gruntfuttock · 19/03/2015 14:21

TipseyTorvey "How old are this couple?"

Quote from OP "They are similar in age to me, early 30s."

YellowTulips · 19/03/2015 14:21

I like Nutella's bra donation idea.

If we all sent one to the OP she could festoon the whole house with "bra bunting" as another poster suggested below Grin

waithorse · 19/03/2015 14:21

This is brilliant. They sound totally crackers. Grin

YellowTulips · 19/03/2015 14:24

PML @ Tunna Grin

Bra bird feeder!!!

What about using the cups as hanging planters?

MrsNutella · 19/03/2015 14:25

Oh my word I am in love with the bra bunting idea and a bra bird feeder!

1001 recycling ideas for bras in the OP's garden please! Grin hahahahaha. Sorry op, you might not want a garden festooned in bras.... Even if I think it would look awesome!
