Friend says its a waste so is sticking to table salt and malt vinegar....

I'm right aren't I?

chip shop chips are usually a soggy greasy mess worthy of little more than basic S & V ergo I'd not waste anything else on them.

balsamic vinegar isn't something I'd eat on chips really. But I do like the pink rock salt so I guess your half R

Notrevealingmyidentity · 14/03/2015 18:11

I must try that.

Although you can't beat cheap salt on greasy fish and chips.

Truffle oil on chip shop chips?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 14/03/2015 18:16

Didn't you do a thread about salt before?Hmm

AuntieStella · 14/03/2015 18:19

Curse you! (says DH, as I now need to send him out to the chippy)

WayfaringStranger · 14/03/2015 18:19

I knew who it'd be before I opened the thread.

You are sooooo predictable.

WannabeLaraCroft · 14/03/2015 18:20

All these chips and salt threads are making me hungry.......

Chippy tea anyone? Grin

ghostyslovesheep · 14/03/2015 18:30

the working class chips thread had some funny - this one not so much

Tobyjugg · 14/03/2015 19:02

The true connoisseur knows that the only vinegar to have on chip shop chips is the stuff hat comes out of a pickled onions jar after you've eaten the onions.

Won't pink salt dye the chips a funny colour?

EmEyeFaive · 14/03/2015 19:07

Oh hell no.

I import proper malt vinegar for chips.

DS calls it my "posh" vinegar. Cos I tend to cosset it in the cupboard by surrounding it with soft stuff. Like rice. Just in case.

Holepunch · 14/03/2015 19:15

Balsamic vinegar makes everything look dirty

They sell Himalayan Rock Salt in Lidl

YaTalkinToMe · 14/03/2015 19:45

YAB so U!
Balsamico Tradizionale and Amethyst Bamboo are the way to go!
Your choices are so primative.

PacificDogwood · 14/03/2015 19:48

Yes, good choice but beaten by my previously mentioned Unicorn's Tears Salt.
Did you learn nothing from your previous thread.

And any kind of vinegar on chips is just morally abhorrent and wrong!

CupidStuntSurvivor · 14/03/2015 19:52

Putting malt vinegar on chips automatically removes all the calories. You heard it here first.

eats cream cake

Mostlyjustaluker · 14/03/2015 19:53

This is all far too logical, it must be middle class Wink

TiggyOfQuirm · 14/03/2015 19:56

I always go for the proper chip shop "Non brewed condiment" and salt.

ilovesooty · 14/03/2015 20:25

I'm glad they sell that salt in Lidl. I was imagining the OP having to go to the Himalayas for it.

PlumpingIsQuiteUpForThud · 14/03/2015 20:29

Whut?

sPJPPp · 15/03/2015 09:39

Non brewed condiment? Sounds delightful

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 15/03/2015 09:41

Balsamic vinegar on chips is lovely. Especially at nandos!

TiggyOfQuirm · 15/03/2015 10:21

Non Brewed condiment is the stuff most chippies have on the counter. I think it's acetic acid and colouring. It is lovely.

sPJPPp · 15/03/2015 10:23

Mmm acid a colouring, I'll just pour my aged balsamic away Grin

ilovesooty · 15/03/2015 10:25

I don't give a toss what the OP has on her chips.
Perhaps she could just get on with her own choices and leave other people to theirs without sneering at them.
