to be a little shocked that the standard comic relief text donation is now a tenner?

Is that not a big jump form previous standard donations? I thought it was a couple of quid?

That would be a lot of money for a lot of people and the emotional blackmail techniques employed are pretty intense.

I'm not against the principle- but I think the level of 'acceptable' minimum donation might have become a little high.

Ridiculous! It will. Backfire on them

You can donate smaller amounts by text

Jo Brand said, 'Even if it's just a fiver..'

Almost an hours pay then...

I know I will sound like a heartless bitch, but I wouldn't donate to comic relief or any other charity that size. I much prefer to donate to a smaller charity with lower overheads and are desperate for funding.

£10 is very high as a minimum donation.

Salmotrutta · 13/03/2015 23:25

I give to lots of different charities.

And the reason I give to lots is that I give £1 to many..

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 13/03/2015 23:25

Lots of £5 codes [[http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/29Qn0klr1Jw3qBVVX7T79Wj/terms-and-conditions here......]]

Salmotrutta · 13/03/2015 23:26

And I do give to lots!

Smartiepants79 · 13/03/2015 23:29

There are many other ways of giving smaller donations.
Many of the text options that have been given during other show have been less than that.
It's also done in the privacy of your own home so no one knows how much you've donated or not.

sallysparrow157 · 13/03/2015 23:31

I've noticed over the past few years the amount on the text donation increases over the course of the night. Maybe so kids who have early bedtimes don't donate too much. Maybe to take advantage of the people who have drunk a few glasses of wine by this time of night.
Not watched comic relief til now to be fair so the donation sum may have been a tenner all night.

ghostyslovesheep · 13/03/2015 23:32

yes but you can donate less

in Sainsburys
at your bank
on line
over the phone
