It's the same every flipping year!

Angst because DH/DP wants to see his mum that day. Cue lots of angry responses about how the OP is now the "matriarch" and MIL can just fuck off

Angst because nothing special has been planned for the OP.

I hate to break it to you but it's just another Sunday, we have dozens of them every year. If you need one particular day for your DH and DC to show you how much they love you then something is wrong in your home.

I didn't realise that Mother's Day was this weekend, I always thought it was on the last Sunday in March in the UK.
I live overseas, where Mother's Day is sometime in May, which means I send my Mum a card then, even though she is in the UK.
There was a memorable year when PILs were visiting us in March, DH hadn't bought her anything as it just was not on our radar.
We went to their holiday apartment, where she had displayed cards from her DH and other son (written by his wife). She sulked because we'd ignored Mothers Day.....

You've been like a mother to me!!

That made me cry laughing

Gully - I think Mother's Day is the last Sunday in Lent. As Easter is early this year so is Mother's Day. I stand to be corrected though!

Morrisons and Sainsburys were crammed with Mother's Day tat and Easter tat. Customers proudly or resentfully buying potted plants, bouquets and boxes of chocs. I hope the recipients are happy with their gifts. I didn't notice DD or DH buying anything other than groceries Grin
