Probably am being unreasonable, but for some reason this expression just makes me absolutely cringe. I hate it with a passion and want to stab anyone who uses it.

AIBU and should I seek therapy?

this phrase has been redeemed by Darren Shan in the Zom-b series. thank god.

InTheWhiteRoom · 10/03/2015 18:52

yanbu

implies that being attractive, or "yummy" (vom) is so unusual as to notable, if you are a mum

ThatCuckingFat · 10/03/2015 18:55

A woman at a mum and baby group we go to has the changing bag with yummy mummy and a cupcake embroidered on it. They're about £50, I always wonder what was she thinking.
Another pet hate of mine is changing job description on FB to 'Super Proud Full Time Mummy at The Kids' etc etc

morethanpotatoprints · 10/03/2015 19:01

I only ever hear this as a piss take of those that are a bit twee.
In this case i think its an apt term.

passmethewineplease · 10/03/2015 19:09

It annoys me when people use it as their Facebook name.

One of my ex friends had yumster mumster. No word of a lie.

Or first name mummytobe surname

AmIthatHot · 10/03/2015 19:11

YANBU. Definitely not

Now, there used to be a poster that had that in her name ....

(Oh, imagine his wry smile if he knew we were fighting over him...)

ChickenMe · 10/03/2015 20:13

Vomit. Yum is for food and men
I also know someone who posts statuses such as "thank Crunchie it's Friday" and uses words such as "Fandabidozie" "be-yoo-ti-full" "awewwwwesome" and she is 40. I can't take it.

rockinrobintweet · 10/03/2015 20:14

agree! as PPs have said it implies that moms are usually frumpy and unattractive.. the term MILF too gets on my nerves.

FunnysInLaJardin · 10/03/2015 20:14

yanbu

minipie · 10/03/2015 21:13

yanbu, grim phrase

vivideye · 10/03/2015 21:14

I once overheard a bridesmaid tell the mother of the bride she looked like a 'milf'. Think it was meant as a compliment but fortunately the milf had no idea what it stood for.

It is tragically sad that women who have squeezed babies out of their actual vaginas still need to define themselves in this generic way mainly by reference to the male gaze.

Can't stand 'babe', either Grin
