AIBU? Cat Poo Vs Dog Poo Thread....

Firstly, I raise my hands and say that I have four cats who do their business in probably lots of my neighbours gardens.

Somewhat disapppointed then to find my neighbours have let their dog do a mahoosive poo three foot from my front door. We are on a shared drive, but the section of grass he has messed on is "ours" and he would have been on his lead so I assume they just stood there and let him.

Am I being a hypocrite about this?

Yes.

EponasWildDaughter · 02/03/2015 13:29

Yes.

nunkspugget · 02/03/2015 13:30

Yes. You happily allow shit to be scattered liberally over other peoples property, so.....suck it up. (Not literally)

Eva50 · 02/03/2015 13:30

Yes, I expect they are making a point.

HazleNutt · 02/03/2015 13:31

No, you can't follow your cats around - but as you say, dogs are walked and therefore the owner must have stood by and left it there. And cats bury their shit, won't just leave it there steaming away.

Nosynora · 02/03/2015 13:31

Not at all ,you have no control over where your cats poo but they do have control of the dog .

startwig1982 · 02/03/2015 13:31

I loathe cat mess. It stinks and as soon as it rains it disintegrates and is much harder to get rid of. Plus the cats do it in sneaky places.
Mind you dog poo is also foul.

eeniemeeniemineymo · 02/03/2015 13:32

Lol, I thought so. But it was odd as my immediate thought was "effing cheek" but then then I thought "meh" my cats probably mess everywhere and anywhere.

Dogs mess just looks so much more disgusting though...

It is the location of it that is really annoying, anyone who walks on my tiny pathway or front garden is going to tread on it. Meh, will go and hose it down in a minute..

I think YANBU about this, as a dog owner myself I know there is no excuse for not clearing up after your dog on other peoples property.

As you have quite so many cats that poop elsewhere though it probably wouldn't do any harm to knock on a couple of neighbours doors and offer to clean up after them wish my neighbour would

eeniemeeniemineymo · 02/03/2015 13:33

Hazlenutt, that is what exactly what my first thought was..

OP posts:
VacantExpression · 02/03/2015 13:33

^ meant to add the "rules" are different for cats and for dogs whatever we think of it poo is poo after all but cats are a different animal and harder impossible to control.

EponasWildDaughter · 02/03/2015 13:34

Cats do not always bury their poo.

VeryPunny · 02/03/2015 13:35

YABVU.

All the cats round here leave steaming turds in full sight all over my flower beds, I don't know why people think they bury it.

Sauce for the goose and all that....

pilates · 02/03/2015 13:36

No YANBU but you don't know for sure it was def your neighbours. Could it be someone visiting your neighbour or could the dog have been off the lead and they weren't aware?

eeniemeeniemineymo · 02/03/2015 13:36

I recognised the poo as being exactly the same as the poo all over the pavement last week. Or does it all look the same? I saw them last week and they said that the dog has stomach problems and that he has no control yet. Without being too graphic it is enormous....

OP posts:
gamerchick · 02/03/2015 13:36

Even my cat who isn't allowed out doesn't always bury her dumps in the tray and she doesn't have an excuse.

eeniemeeniemineymo · 02/03/2015 13:37

No, it was def their dog. I saw it out the front (through my door) before I went out. I only popped down the shop 100 yards away and they were out there when I came back. No other dogs around here. The only visitors I get are the postman.

fortifiedwithtea · 02/03/2015 13:39

YANBU dog owners have a responsibility to clean up after their dogs where ever they go.

Cats are free spirits and allowed to shit where they like and piss everyone off in the process.

I don't have cats or dogs so my view is completely unbiased.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 02/03/2015 13:39

I bloody hate cat poo in our garden. We can't send our children out to play without checking the grass first. It's never buried and it's vile.

Dog poo is obviously vile too.

YABU.

cingolimama · 02/03/2015 13:51

Oh, the "you can't control cats - they are wild creatures" rubbish. Please. They are pets. And your responsibility. Please use a goddamn litter tray for your pet.

crocodiledundeelady · 02/03/2015 13:56

No. Cats bury their poo, do it in a corner, and it's less smelly. I'm a dog owner.

ChameleonCircuit · 02/03/2015 14:07

Would you care to come and educate our local moggies? I think they missed the memo about burying it or sticking to one corner. Angry

mousmous · 02/03/2015 14:09

yes

both cat and dog poo are vile. but at least dogs don't get into my garden and dig in my veg patch.

gamerchick · 02/03/2015 14:11

It always makes me chuckle when people insist that cats bury their craps, despite people saying they clearly don't because X, y and z.

They really really don't. They might do the motions and cover it in air but that's it. Grin
