Its making my eyes water. I haven't broached it yet but we have a birthday party to go to later.

AIBU to engineer a weetabix accident over breakfast?

Its all good don't worry. It takes a lot more to offend me than anything said on here.

For the record, I absolutely did not say or do anything to stop him wearing what he chose today. Doesn't mean I wouldn't have been pleased if something had made him change though.

I'm very glad about that, Juniper, I can see I was projecting very, very much and sometimes my fingers type without a filter. Offending you was not the intention at all, you're very graceful.

As a kid my clothing wasn't really my own choice - ever. I suspect this wasn't helped by the fact that my mum was called to bring some knickers to school for me because I wasn't wearing any - and hadn't been for some weeks. I think the teacher wouldn't have cared less what colour they were. My poor mum. Blush

he looks fab. But I choose to dress DD1 in a purple skirt or jeans with an orange t-shirt so I might be the wrong person to ask. Blame 'Four weddings...'

Splash of colour cheers everyone up. DH once dressed 2 year old in 10 month olds clothes. When I came home and saw him I was ShockShock 2 year old was small for his age and was kinda, slightly pulled in but was so proud to be wearing his little brothers clothes I didn't have the heart to change him straight away.

lyingwitch I am so off to aldi. Thank you, thank you! FlowersDaffodil

Happy shopping, SummerHouse... you could add one of the new 'Continental Apple Pie's and a carton of Aldi's own custard. Favourite dessert in this house. Daffodil

AliceLidl · 01/03/2015 20:20

I thought he looked good in the photo. I like that colour combination.

SummerHouse · 01/03/2015 20:57

Right-o. Apple pie and custard is in. If you are ever in asda, may I offer you the 20 slice crispy smoked bacon and the picante (spicy) chorizo. Also GU choc melting middle pudding and... If you are in a making mood... Nigella's white choc and bailey's cheese cake..... Felt I needed to pass some wisdom back. Smile

Thanks SummerHouse. Because I'm out and about, I tend to buy different things from different supermarkets. This is what I love from each one:

Tesco: Finest Pea and Wiltshire Ham Soup, Wheaten loaf from bakery.
Asda: Mango fingers (saves mine!)
Morrisons: Steaks - and any meat generally, also their own falafels from deli counter
Sainsbury: Beef meatballs, chicken kiev
Marks & Spencer: Chicken in Prosciuto, Chicken and Supergrain soup, Bramley hot cross buns, Percy Pigs - and Tuna Crunch Roll from sandwich counter (divine), frankfurters
Waitrose: Davidstow cheddar, crusty white rolls, mellow tuna pate (only from here)
Aldi: all the things I've already mentioned and four-bird roast, fresh green beans (we only buy these here now) - any fresh fruit and veg.

General: President butter, Warburton Honey Wheat Loaf or Old Yorkshire white loaf

Jupiter when we were young my aunties in the States brought home bags of clothes for us handed down from our cousins - think American 70's bling being worn in rural Ireland by red headed children. We have fab photos of us in bright yellow tops and purple trousers (flares of course) with faux fur red coats and in the back ground my mothers swirly carpet and geometric wallpaper. At the time we thought we were the bees knees but now we see the photos its hilarious and my eyes nearly bleed!!
Go with the choices your son makes and be glad he's confident to have his own style. Long may it last

engeika · 01/03/2015 22:34

leave him. he looks fine. let him be free. back in school uniform again in the morning

RoastedCatNuts · 02/03/2015 02:02

He looks great.

Memphisbelly · 02/03/2015 02:31

I think he looked fab...my 4yo on the other hand came down after being told to pick something smart for a lunch in a 'naice' pub in bright red trainers, a different shade of red joggers, a bright orange tshirt with a monkey on and the word business because 'I love business' (whatever that means Grin) and a bright green hoody, he also found the gel and decided to go spikey today Confused.

Luckily he asked me to help make his hair look cooler and spilt milk on the joggers himself so opted for jeans.

SummerHouse · 02/03/2015 07:03

Thanks lyingwitch

This supermarket produce guide should be a thread in itself. I too use them all (apart from tesco). Smile So very handy info. Flowers
