I have not exercised for 20 years.
1 month ago I started doing 30 mins swimming and 30 mins walking on treadmill at 4 miles an hour for 30 mins.
I have lost..... NO WEIGHT
BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4cm off each thigh
4cm off my tummy
5cm off my boobs
6 cm off my waist
6cm off my bum

YIIPPPPPPPEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Sorry had to post on here as am trying to do it in secret as I have talked the talk about weight loss too many times with my friends and not followed through so thought being secret about it was the best way)

That's fantastic news! You should be super proud of yourself ?? I started my own weight loss and fitness journey after the birth of my youngest 10 months ago and am the slimmest and happiest I have been since the birth of my oldest nearly 8 years ago. It's done wonders for my confidence. Keep up the good work!

Strictly1 · 25/02/2015 20:23

Yay! Well done you.

SallyMcgally · 25/02/2015 20:23

That's brilliant - well done! How often were you doing this?

TheSnowFairy · 25/02/2015 20:24

Good for you - that's great!

I've started PT twice a week as can't fit in anything else due to DCs/DH work pattern and am also seeing amazing results in my shape. Expensive but worth it to kick start my fitness (also been 20 years of not much activity).

Keep it upFlowers

StrumpersPlunkett · 25/02/2015 20:26

I am going at least twice a week and one week I managed 3 times, this week things are in better order so can deffo do 3 times and hopefully for the foreseable.
hoping to get from 15st to 11.5 by Christmas. (maybe a tad optimistic but hey ho)

Wow - well done!
You have put me to shame. We bought a used running machine just after Christmas and after two weeks of use, it has pretty much stayed tucked in the corner of the room. Hmmm.....your results are pretty impressive - i reckon you have shamed me into taking some action! I will get back on it tomorrow.
Do your clothes feel looser? That is always the best motivation for me. I think i just gave in too soon.
Your post has inspired me !

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 25/02/2015 20:28

Congratulations, that's a huge achievement! Thanks

Lardylassnomore · 25/02/2015 20:30

Congrats!

StrumpersPlunkett · 25/02/2015 20:31

Mocheenee, clothes have started to feel looser, was getting down as no change on the scales SO pleased that I measured things before I started so I had that to fall back on.

Thanks ladies.. do feel happy about it Grin also going straight after school drop off has become a habit so hope that will help with keeping it up.

FortyFacedFuckers · 25/02/2015 20:32

Wow well done op. I have recently started exercising again I really hope I get similar results!

LokiBear · 25/02/2015 20:33

Congratulations! You will do it! Keep making small adjustments and you will achieve your goal.

Mocheenee · 25/02/2015 20:40

You are clearly doing wonders, building body strength etc.
Keep us in the loop with your progress.
I am definitely getting on that running machine tomorrow after work, and am going to choose one pair of trousers to use as my looseness guide rather than scales.

So pleased for you, and chuffed your post has given me a kick up the arse to give exercise another go .

thoughtsbecomethings · 25/02/2015 20:42

Wow that's amazing well done you must feel fantastic. You have inspired me to get my fat ass doing something Grin

StrumpersPlunkett · 25/02/2015 20:43

I think that is one of the things that has really struck me through this.. I really really want to be fit as much as I do thinner, this morning it felt like I could do longer on the treadmill so when I go on friday I am going to increase the incline as I don't have time to go longer at the moment.

Well done - it's a great feeling.

Ive got stuck in to training at the gym again and I lost a bit of weight but then none for ages but started noticing clothes felt better, hung better. I'm not ready to go down a size quite yet but totally get hoe you can feel and be slimmer without losing weight I wished I'd measured myself too OP*

Someone told me today how well, and to quote 'really well in fact' - oh it felt sooo good. It spurred me on - Im back at that gym tomorrow. Grin

StrumpersPlunkett · 25/02/2015 21:25

Grin I have not had this feeling before.. feels great

Well done that's fantastic... Sounds like you may get addicted. I am Grin

DamsonInDistress · 26/02/2015 07:39

Have a look at a couch to 5km programme to do on the treadmill - building your speed slowly and safely will eventually lead to burning twice the calories in the same amount of time. It may not be something you feel able to do right now I don't know, but keep it in mind for the future.

DamsonInDistress · 26/02/2015 07:40

Oh and PS, great job!

I wanted to bail on my swim this morning but I'm not going to now. You're in inspiring!

StrumpersPlunkett · 26/02/2015 10:16

That is a great idea. Not sure I am ready yet as there is still more than 14 stone of me to lugg about but hopefully soon Smile
