Astrology in Healthcare

"A Tory MP has has claimed NHS over-crowding could be solved by doctors using astrology to treat patients.

"Astrology is a useful diagnostic tool enabling us to see strengths and weaknesses via the birth chart.

"People who oppose what I say are usually bullies who have never studied astrology.

Bizarrely, Tredinnick, 65, who is chairman of the All-Party Group for Integrated Healthcare, went on to say people who opposed astrology were "racist".

Tredinnick, who was born under the Capricorn star sign, claims his own astrological chart suggests he was destined to be a "servant of the people." He said: "I have a strong 6th house which suggests an emphasis on being a servant of the people - and this is quite a strong indication of health and healing. My Moon-Venus-Jupiter planets (in Aquarius) sit opposite Pluto in the 12th house."

I'm not even going to ask if AIBU to think it's a load of bollocks, because it is a load of bollocks.

Agree Pacific. That was what was so utterly heart breaking about the Burzynski saga. And he gets to walk away with virtually no come back at all. He should be rotting in a jail somewhere.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 25/02/2015 21:43

Sorry, Pacific. I realise they are not the same thing, forgot that others don't and might be confused about that.

Ach, I know you're a good'un, Rafa - I just come up against this shit in my professional life too often and it irks me. A lot.

pigletjohn for secretary of health, methinks

Don't worry, Pacific. At least your not one of the professionals who believes this stuff. I was quite surprised when I went in to a high street pharmacy chain to buy migraleve to be told that the type of migraine I'd had was a classic sign of acidic blood. Obviously the solution was an Alkaline Diet. Something else was misaligned, possibly my solar plexus, indicating a liver problem. I did point out I'd recently had liver function tests but apparently it's not the sort of liver problem a doctor would find.

Given I'd had plenty of conversations with this pharmacist before and he knew I knew enough to call him out on this I assume he wasn't too surprised I reported him to the Head Office. He's bloody lucky I didn't report him to the GPC.
