farewellfigure · 19/02/2015 16:05

Mine's a nod to my post-pregnancy body. I chose it to be ironic because I didn't have a figure before DS and I still don't. I go out at the neck then back in again at the ankles. Thank goodness for ankles hey?

ProudAS · 19/02/2015 16:30

Mine is because I have Aspergers and am proud of the way I am.

AmserGwin · 19/02/2015 17:49

Mine is WineTime in Welsh

fuzzpig · 19/02/2015 17:56

Your name always makes me smile, ProudAS :) (I haven't chased up diagnosis yet, but pretty sure I have AS too)

Hygellig · 19/02/2015 18:22

It's a Danish word that doesn't have an exact equivalent in English (something along the lines of cozy/homely I think). I've never been to Denmark and don't speak Danish (other than what I've gleaned from BBC4 dramas) but I liked the sound of the word and its connotations.

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 19/02/2015 18:22

^ my cat, a prolific mouser

Hygellig · 19/02/2015 18:26

ifgrandmahadawilly - I had heard that expression before - I remember reading that there is a Yiddish saying along the lines of "if your grandma had a beard, she would be grandpa" or "if your grandmother had balls, she'd be your grandfather".

Revenant · 19/02/2015 18:33

I came back

chockbic · 19/02/2015 18:34

Like chocolate biscuits. However chocbic was already gone.

I haven't seen her around these parts.

MrsJacksonAvery · 19/02/2015 18:51

Changed mine for a Grey's Anatomy thread so I could 'claim' the beautiful Jackson Avery as MINE. Ah... If only :-)

brimfullofasha · 19/02/2015 19:14

I joined mumsnet when I had been ttc for a few years without success. Asha means 'hope' in Hindi. I also like the Cornershop song Smile

mrspremise · 19/02/2015 19:20

Monty Python is my very best thing Grin

insancerre · 19/02/2015 19:29

My favourite wine and a play on insincere as I am a cynic and I don't think I'm a very helpful or supportive poster most of the time

Buttwing · 19/02/2015 19:49

When ds1 first started toddling he used to follow me everywhere and I used to call him my little duckling. One day I heard dd2 (3) shouting at him-come on my little buttwing! It made me smile until she shouted it at full volume in the supermarket Blush

Allstoppedup · 19/02/2015 19:52

Buttwing That made me (attractively) snort laugh! How adorable!

WandaFuca · 19/02/2015 19:59

Gruntfuttock – I did wonder if your username was related to Round the Horne – loved that show.

AnythingNotEverything: “I am a woman. I can do anything, but I can't do everything.” That would be brilliant on a t-shirt.

Inchstonesbeatmilestones – that is so poignant. And makes a very important point.

HelenThatsHisWilly – I think I recall the story about AnyFucker’s username, but maybe she’ll turn up to explain it.

My user name refers to the Juan da Fuca tectonic plate that’s subducting under the north-west of the North American continent. Tectonics is fascinating stuff, but potentially deadly. (Which doesn’t describe me at all. Grin)

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 19/02/2015 20:14

Mine is pretty boring, and self explanatory. This week it was the rear wiper that went Hmm

Bloody love inchstones ... so wish I'd read that when preemie DS was missing everything!

Stealthpolarbear · 19/02/2015 20:16

love these!
ithink exit pursued by a bear is from shakespeare

Andrewofgg · 19/02/2015 20:21

I now wish I had called myself JulianAndSandy when I joined.

WandaFuca · 19/02/2015 20:59

Stealth - my recollection is of a MNer posting about something emotional. Then bumping the thread by asking "why won't any fucker answer me!" And AF answered: "Here I am." And then gave her usual pithy advice.

Lidlfix · 19/02/2015 21:07

Lost my much loved username due to Heartbleed thingie. One of my DDs asked me on my way into Lidl's car park if if I was getting my Lidl fix- I thought she was talking about the band. I don't luv it like my last name Sad

Thankyoumrspatterson · 19/02/2015 21:17

Mines from Harry Enfield ! "Cn I ave a jam sandwich mrs Paterson pleaseeee" comedy gold!

Tallalime · 19/02/2015 21:19

Mine is what my DD called me the day she realised my name isn't actually Mummy.

After evesdropping on a conversation I was having she sidled over demanded that "Tallalime and Tallalimes Friend dance with meeee"

CheshireSplat · 19/02/2015 21:42

Mine's not interesting enough to explain but if AsleepOnASunbeam is here I'll say hello as that's the song we signed the Register to when we got married.

I want a more interesting name now then.

Bambambini · 19/02/2015 21:43

Nothing to me. I NC fairly often. Every time I type in a new name it is taken so just kept bashing away till it accepted one.
