To drive to Nando's just to get a mushroom and halloumi cheese burger?

I can't get it out of my head! I can practically taste it. What is wrong with me? It's over 30 min drive away and I know it makes no sense whatsoever but I am so close to picking up the car keys and going for it. (I may get something for DH too so it's not a completely selfish act... Is it? )

Nothing involving halloumi is unreasonable.

StayingAStepAhead · 16/02/2015 16:07

Bring me piri piri fries and I'll allow it :)

JugglingLife · 16/02/2015 16:08

Are they good? Full description please.

bumbleymummy · 16/02/2015 16:09

Oh piri piri fries.... How had I forgotten?!

Tabby, I know! I have only discovered it in the last couple of years and I'm a complete addict now.

So good juggling..... The chewiness of the bread... The juiciness of the mushroom... The saltiness of the cheese ... Completely smothered in hot sauce so you can't feel your tongue afterwards of course Grin

Hmmm, need a trip to nandos soon.

AwfulBeryl · 16/02/2015 16:12

What are you waiting for ? It's def worth it if you have some off the spicy nuts and peppery houmus too.

What are you going to have on the side ?

JugglingLife · 16/02/2015 16:12

It sounds frigging deliciousness, maybe with a roulette wheel on the side?

youbethemummylion · 16/02/2015 16:13

Is making one yourself an option? I haven't had one so don't know if homemade can match the yummyness but maybe there is a supermarket closer than 30mins away?

bumbleymummy · 16/02/2015 16:14

Piri peri fries on the side and maybe.... Corn on the cob?

You lot are such a bad influence!

Crap I've just looked at the Nando's site and, not only is there one about a half mile from my house, they do takeout and I can go and collect it. Waaaah!!

Thank God they don't deliver...A beanie pitta with spicy rice and garlic bread sounds SO good right now...

bumbleymummy · 16/02/2015 16:16

Youbet - I have attempted it before but it's the bread that let's it down I think... And the absence of hot sauce... Hmmm... Maybe I should try again. There's a new M&S opened not too far away. They might have decent bread - yes?

I can't put into words how much I love halloumi. I could weep. YANBU but yes very easy to make yourself (and I'm a shit cook).

bumbleymummy · 16/02/2015 16:16

Oooh - beanie pitta....

OP posts:
AwfulBeryl · 16/02/2015 16:16

I love their corn, but can never decide whether to go for it or the macho peas. Same with the fries and the spicy rice We are going out for Chinese tonight but fancy Nandos now.

bumbleymummy · 16/02/2015 16:16

Seriously - what is wrong with me? I had lunch about 3 hours ago!

AwfulBeryl · 16/02/2015 16:19

It's half term week innit. You need the extra calories.

InfinitySeven · 16/02/2015 16:20

There is a Nando's 15 mins from me. DP is about to go near it on his way home.

He's not a Nando's fan though, so it might be hard to persuade him :(

weeblueberry · 16/02/2015 16:22

Oh God and a custard tart thing to finish it all off...

I am now STARVING. Envy

ILovePud · 16/02/2015 16:23

Cor that sounds good, I've never been to Nandos as I'm vegetarian and assumed they just did chicken, that burger sounds lush though.

bumbleymummy · 16/02/2015 16:23

Good point Beryl. I can go with that logic.

Is there something else beside it that he likes infinity? You could order something for him from there so all he has to do is stop and collect. :)

OP posts:
bumbleymummy · 16/02/2015 16:24

I haven't tried the custard tart - good?

OP posts:
Discopanda · 16/02/2015 16:25

I really want that too now, I've dabbled with the bean and veggie burgers, but nothing compares to the halloumi and portabello mushroom.

The custard tart thing is absolutely incredible. You need one.
