DP has been using my conditioner.

That wouldn't be a problem had he not used his own Shampoo. I take great care to use an equal amount of both shampoo and conditioner so they run out at the same time. He thinks I'm weird.

Should I ltb?

I must be doing it wrong as my conditoner always runs out first!

someonestolemynick · 09/02/2015 00:12

Hmm but, but they CAN'T run out at different times. It's WRONG.

My conditioner runs out well before my shampoo. I can usually get through 2 bottles of conditioner by the time I've got through 1 bottle of shampoo!

LillyEvans · 09/02/2015 00:14

I think my conditioner usually runs out first. To counteract this I have more than one conditioner on the go at the same time, so I can pretend to myself that the conditioner and shampoo get used equally. Hmm Maybe I'm a bit odd, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with strange shampoo, conditioner rituals.

Sn00p4d · 09/02/2015 00:18

I have been known to shampoo three times just to balance them out. I feel your pain!

someonestolemynick · 09/02/2015 00:19

Lily, it's not strange it's how shampoo and conditioner should be used. Perhaps I should look into 2-in1 products.

Conditioner runs out faster - fact.

My DH wouldn't even know what to do with conditioner! plus I would kill him if he touched my toiletries

MaudeLebowski · 09/02/2015 00:28

Conditioner goes first.

I can only think that shampoo might go first if you have short or very fine hair

Long hair, as thick as mine, needs more conditioner than shampoo.

someonestolemynick · 09/02/2015 00:29

No it foesn't . [stamps]. The copius amounts if shampoo i'm using are entirely justified.

YANBU DS uses my conditioner and it bugs the hell out of me as I also like both bottles to go down at the same rate. I hate brands where the conditioner bottle holds less than the shampoo. I need to get a life...

RainbowRabbit33 · 09/02/2015 00:38

They should run out together. That way peace and harmony lies. I was always frustrated that the conditioner ran out first, in spite of my efforts to use exactly the same amount of each. I then discovered that those bastards at Head and Shoulders make the conditioner IN SMALLER BOTTLES! Why?! Why would anyone do this?! Obviously it's to prey on us neat and tidy people who want them to run out at the same time and therefore buy and extra bottle of shampoo so we start new ones together. I think Asda and Boots know this, and that's why it's almost always on three for £10.

We'll screw you Head and Shoulders, I'm going to use 2in1 to get past your cynical tricks. Even though I don't really like it and it means I'm still giving you my money...

I feel much better now, thank you MNers. I have been waiting for an opportunity to get my shampoo/conditioner angst off my chest for some time. DH has been no help, he just told me to use less conditioner!

someonestolemynick · 09/02/2015 00:39

Hope your DS's unreasonablenes meets grave consequences.

Oh, Catz, your reaction is much more measured than mine, and you think you need to get a life!!

Off to the grip shop I go...

Ahh but you don't know what I plan to fill the empty conditioner bottle withGrin. He won't be needing any hair products for a while.

RainbowRabbit33 · 09/02/2015 00:47

And I shall show DH, just to prove that I am not the only person in the world to whom these things matter. Even if others are less ranty about it!

someonestolemynick · 09/02/2015 00:47

It's time you faced the truth, Derek. If shampoo and conditioner don't run out together, the sky will fall down on her heads.

OP posts:
someonestolemynick · 09/02/2015 00:49

I might steal that plan. [Evil cackle]

OP posts:
FightOrFlight · 09/02/2015 00:59

Conditioner will always run out first. Its the law in this house mainly because I bleach/dye the utter fuck out of my hair.

I avoid the sky falling in on my head by using shampoo instead of washing up liquid. Keeps dandruff out of my cutlery, cuts down on shopping bills and keeps the universe balanced.
