Strange DM story today, nothing adds up

OMG!!!!!

I thought it 'smelt' funny

TendonQueen · 08/02/2015 08:18

I liked the way they said in the article they tried to be anonymous and blend in at the airport so no one would know their situation. Then agreed to feature in a Daily Mail story all about it.

Pipbin · 08/02/2015 08:19

I wonder if the Mail are going to make out that they themselves were being scamed by this couple?

Someone else has said the B&B owner is called Alan Legge. So maybe not scam, Might be pure foolishness with money. Well, no doubt. Pure foolishness.

bookbag40 · 08/02/2015 08:51

How strange. What I can't work out though is they obviously own a successful b&b so what was the point of the scam? Surely they would know people would recognise them? Story looks like it has gone from the paper now

LovestFromest · 08/02/2015 08:54

Agreed Coconutty. I thought the story had some big holes in it but I'm genuinely shocked to see that it's 100% bullshit. This is low, even for the DM.

Pipbin · 08/02/2015 08:54

If you were them and people were calling you at this B&B wouldn't you lie about your name too?

no73 · 08/02/2015 08:55

I thought this was a loads of old codswallop when I read it on my night shift last night. Utterly bonkers that people are giving them money they have more than me a month!!!

VixxFace · 08/02/2015 09:18

I am shocked it says Alan and katrina on the reviews. Has anyone contacted the papers? ?

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 08/02/2015 09:23

I was wondering that, Vixx, but you'd think the papers would be able to find it out for themselves!

VixxFace · 08/02/2015 09:28

I have tried to comment on the actual story but every time I write it logs me out.

How did pp find out? !

chrome100 · 08/02/2015 09:29

£1400 not a lot?! It's more than I earn working full time and I consider myself to be doing OK.

Pipbin · 08/02/2015 09:41

£14000 is the take home pay of a newly qualified teacher.

I suspect the papers do know about the B&B (assuming it is them) but either want to follow up with how the paper were scammed or are just hoping no one finds it.

Pipbin · 08/02/2015 09:41

Just noticed one too many 0 on that figure!!!

paxtecum · 08/02/2015 10:28
