It's not just creme eggs, they've changed the chocolate for caramel eggs as well. Is nothing sacred?!

Stop eating it then lol!! misses point of thread

AWholeLottaNosy · 29/01/2015 13:54

Fry's Turkish Delight is still good! If you like that sort of thing...

ErrolTheDragon · 29/01/2015 13:59

Well, I'm glad I read this before I was tempted to get some mini-eggs.

Does anyone else do something similar though? I (used to) love the combination of the crisp, slightly vanilla shell and the chocolate within.

I wonder if the poor sods in the US who are outraged by the Hershey's lawsuit banning the import of Cadbury's chocolate from Britain know that it's been buggered up here too. Mind you, I'd bet that the Hershey's version is worse.

SistersOfPercy · 29/01/2015 14:01

Cadbury are denying changing Mini Eggs on Twitter, yet there are dozens of tweets daily from people asking if they have changed them as they dont taste the same.
Someone is telling porky pies.

Mitchy1nge · 29/01/2015 14:03

oh god I saw this thread title and was overwhelmed with longing for a kraft dinner of macaroni and cheese

MrsPeterQuill · 29/01/2015 14:03

They've definitely changed the mini eggs chocolate and the creme egg chocolate. I'm absolutely fewmin Angry Grin

I won't be buying Cadbury's anymore, Tis horrible. Don't like Galaxy or Lindt though either. Where can I get my chocolate fix from?

Hatespiders · 29/01/2015 14:20

I watched a programme about the cocoa plantations in W Africa, and it seems they've been badly hit by some virus. Scientists here have started breeding a plant which is resistant to it, but supplies are still dwindling as they haven't 'rolled it out' yet. I wonder if this has some bearing on the taste, you lucky people who still eat chocolate? Perhaps it's now very costly to import cocoa beans, so Kraft have substituted quite a bit of Something Else.
Just an idea.

BadgersNadgers · 29/01/2015 14:23

Sadly it appears that they've substituted cocoa with Kraft Cheese Slices.

gaggiagirl · 29/01/2015 14:25

Lidl and aldi chocolate is amazing. That's where my Easter shite will be coming from this year.

CrapBag · 29/01/2015 14:26

I had so easy mini eggs the other day and they were sooooo sweet, far sweeter than they used to be and it didn't make the nicer.

I currently have a creme egg sat on the shelf but I'm putting off eating it. My nan said it wasn't nice and won't buy it again.

I'm pissed off that when I had a caramel the other day, all the chocolate around the actual caramel square has now gone. It was so bloody small!

CrapBag · 29/01/2015 14:27

Fuck it, I'm eating it now. I want to see what all the fuss is about.

It's bloody tiny!!

MrsCakesPrecognition · 29/01/2015 14:30

Can we call them Crapbury's now?

CrapBag · 29/01/2015 14:33

Bloody hell that middle stuff is sweet! I'll be tasting that all day. The chocolate isn't as chocolaty either. Sad

Don't think i'll bother again.

AimlesslyPurposeful · 29/01/2015 14:41

We should find the original Cadbury's milk chocolate recipe, pool our money, buy a chocolate factory and make our own. Thus creating jobs and edible milk chocolate!

Who's in?

InanimateCarbonRod · 29/01/2015 14:43

I've been off Cadbury for years. It's disgusting now. Cheap ingredients and cloyingly sweet. Yuck. I'm on Lindt or Perugina all the way.

Madcatgirl · 29/01/2015 14:45

I also bought mini eggs last week and they've definitely been tampered with.

Fucking Kraft, ruining my life!

Bastards.

Hatespiders · 29/01/2015 14:46

Aimlessly good idea. Even though I shan't be able to sample the goods, I will very nobly offer the services of my W African husband to import the cocoa beans. Ivory Coast is one of the largest exporters of the stuff.
Just don't site your factory anywhere near us, or the delicious smell will drive me insane.
(I was born and bred near the Nestles chocolate factory in W London. The gorgeous smell of melted choc wafted round our house daily. Maybe that accounts for my addiction?)

Discopanda · 29/01/2015 14:46

Going to Aldi a bit later, will have to stock up on their moster roth chocolate to get me through this tough time.

Wink
Miggsie · 29/01/2015 15:03

I stopped buying Cadbury a while back - Hotel Chocolat for me, it's so expensive that it really is now an enjoyable luxury and that's good for the waistline.

I hope they don't start messing with Green and Blacks - that's what I use for cooking with.

ladymalfoy · 29/01/2015 15:05

Hershey chocolate on the horizon. Blech

HowCanIMissYouIfYouWontGoAway · 29/01/2015 15:06

Isn't that the stuff that tastes like someone's mixed a cup of cold sick in there?

squoosh · 29/01/2015 15:10

Yes.
