Friends boiler broke down & was fixed for free within 4 days. When mine broke down, I had to apply for a loan to get it fixed & took 4 weeks.

All she's done is moan on Fb it's taken too long.

Felt like adding get a job & try paying for it yourself & then you'd have something to moan about!

Still paying off the sodding loan - how I wish I had a council house ??

I said practically for free. Yes she pays rent, which in part will pay for it, but the rent is constant. I meant she is not having to pay out any extra money to get this upgrade

MrsVamos · 27/01/2015 14:33

Not snogged you for ages, lovely.

Its MNBingo day I think. I must have missed the memo.

YesIDidMeanToBeSoRudeActually · 27/01/2015 14:33

nurse, that's how rentals work, you do understand that, right? If you own something and pay for upgrades, you get to KEEP THEM unlike renting. It's not hard really.

YesIDid Yes I do understand that. But a private landlord is very unlikely to update a perfectly usable kitchen, giving the tenant colour options are they? I never said it was wrong she got it. I never said she doesn't pay rent. I never said because she is in a council house she must live in horrible conditions and never have her property maintained. I said it is annoying when someone who is fortunate enough to be paying less for their accommodation complains about something so trivial. She has every right to complain if she wishes, and I have every right to find it annoying.

EatShit how were you ignored? I replied. I know her kitchen was perfectly usable before and it was still upgraded. Why she got this and others don't I truly have no idea. Of course anyone would choose cheaper accommodation if its possible. But it would also be ridiculous to rent in a run down area of town because the rent is cheaper and then complain about the area. She persistently complains about neighbours, but chooses to continue to live where she does because it is cheaper.

I live in a HA house in the south west, we got housed within 4 months and both work (i was on maternity leave at the time but still classed as full time) we pay all our rent, no HB etc.

seriously, there are some right thickos out there!

ilovechristmas1 · 27/01/2015 14:41

Eats

You have to ignore the twattery. Grin

I have a friend in a HA house. Kitchen not touched for nearly 40 years, cupboards falling apart etc.

She got her kitchen, last year. First replacement in the cycle. Should have been done 20 years earlier but hey ho.

They also in their wisdom replaced the bathroom she had paid for & put in, a year and a half previously, after being told that wasn't due till the house was 50 years old.

They changed their minds and ripped her lovely, hard earned bathroom out and put in the bog-standard, no choice over white decor lot. She cried.

Why was it done ? Cos as MrsDV said, it was down onto the form as due to be done.

People don't realise council or ha tenants have NO CHOICE when works are done. Whether needed or not.

Some people don't want to know.

And those twats we must ignore.

IHaveBrilloHair · 27/01/2015 14:47

I got a new bathroom last year, and got to choose tiles, paint and floor colour, it has a walk in shower too, I am so lucky to be disabled

MrsVamos · 27/01/2015 14:47

Must.learn.to.ignore.

Repeat.

fuzzpig · 27/01/2015 14:49

We recently bid on a council property that was only available to families where at least one person worked.
