This woman's 5yo daughter was hit by a car just before Christmas and killed. The powers that be have refused her family visas, so they cannot attend the funeral, and cannot support this poor woman.

So, AIBU to ask you to sign the petition below?

From the BBc website it seems that it is her aunt and grandparents that have been debnied visas. Website goes on to say:

"Explaining its decision to the three family members, the Home Office said it was "not satisfied that you have demonstrated that this will be a simple visit of three months or that your intentions are genuine in wishing to travel to the United Kingdom".

The decision papers said all three had been refused entry clearance in October 2013 "partly due to economic ties to Zimbabwe", which had not been addressed in the more recent application. "

So basically they are worried that this little girl's family are using of her death as a pretext to settle here Sad Angry

Sad I know, but i have to agree with the home office, if theres a risk they are going to stay then they shouldn't be allowed a Visa.

But 850 you could say that of simply anyone applying for a visa - there is always a risk they'll stay.

In this case, a child is dead. Hard to understand how anyone could suspect this as a pretext to illegal immigration.

GlitterBelle · 22/01/2015 14:08

Their MP has also said that fundraisers in Eastbourne have raised enough to pay for their flights home, therefore debunking the argument they won't have enough money to return.

Signed and shared on FB. My heart breaks for Andrea's Mum. Of course she wants her family with her. The risk (I'm not saying there realky is one) that 2 people may try and stay is a small price to pay for showing a bit of humanity.
