To not care that my cat craps in neighbours gardens

I have cats.

They go outside (as they should).

They probably shit I the neighbours garden but mostly they seem to shit in our garden.

I suspect they kill small furry animals too and I know they do as well as birds

As do lions, tigers, lynxes, snow leopards, blah blah.

I don't approve of "indoor" cats.

Are you my mothers next door neighbour?

Tinks42 · 17/01/2015 23:33

aww I love that guinea pig.

EdSheeran · 17/01/2015 23:33

My cat is called 'goady fucker'.

Sparklingbrook · 17/01/2015 23:33

This cat poo thread has been a little disappointing. Usually you get some weirdo linking to all sorts of cat killing illegal stuff and getting deleted all over the place. The klaxon must be broken.

Never have I had a conversation in RL about cat poo in gardens.

GreyjoysAnatomy · 17/01/2015 23:34

fight! fight! fight!

I would go and take away the shit my cats leave in our neighbours gardens, but since everyone on the street has at least one cat there really is no point as we'd all end up in each others gardens all the time Wink

My moggies use their litter tray though, no idea if they poop outside too. It not something I can get worked up about tbh, my neighbours son took a shit in my garden a while back, I'd rather the cat shit.

Salmotrutta · 17/01/2015 23:34

Bit cats are just "domesticated" versions of wild animals U2. They have wild instincts.

I use "domesticated" loosely because cats aren't really domesticated.

And don't come back with dogs because I don't agree with having dogs unless they are also allowed to follow natural behaviours.

I don't have a dog. I don't really trust them and at least a cat is not big enough to be a real threat to children. Unlike a dog.

He goes out for about 5 minutes then if the wind blows on him he legs it back in.

middleagedbread · 17/01/2015 23:35

My cat loves me. I know this because he sits on me whenever he can; when I'm on laptop, at the sewing machine, in the bath, on the toilet, reading my kindle (it is entirely necessary that he sits himself right in front of what I am doing so I see only him). He has to be where I am and likes to sleep on my head in bed (purring loudly and dribbing into my ear). This is love.

I am further lucky that we live in a street full of cat people. The cats shit in whatever garden they want and it's ok. Grin long live cats

There is a cat café which has opened in Edinburgh:

We pick up our dog poo everytime. Our dog is very well behaved and trained properly. He minds our commands perfectly and does not go wondering outside of our property. Cats cannot be trained or have their territory limited in this way which I appreciate, but while I don't like the thought of our dog killing any animal (and since we've had him for the last 2 years he hasn't killed any animal that we've been aware of,) he is an animal with innate instincts. Just saying, I have nothing against cats but if a cat wanders into our back garden - our dog's "territory," it's a natural risk that the cat is taking and when the OP posts that she doesn't give a toss about her precious cat crapping in other people's gardens, well I don't give a toss about the risk a cat takes coming into our garden.

We have cats on wither side of us. We dont have a shitty garden as we have a very feisty Jack Russell. She chases cats, squirrels and ducks so they dont have time for a shitGrin She never catches them though, thank goodness.

MissHJ · 17/01/2015 23:38

God I would hate living next to you. I have a toddler, so really would not appreciate having to clear your cat's mess from my garden before he can even play outside and we actually have a cat but she always goes in a litter tray.

I would probably throw it over or post it via your letterbox Wink

Bettercallsaul1 · 17/01/2015 23:38

Not sure if that guinea pig has successfully armed itself against the predatory advances of its rabbit cellmate or if it is inside a rodent version of an iron maiden.

And don't come back with dogs because I don't agree with having dogs unless they are also allowed to follow natural behaviours.

In that case, I'd allow my dogs to 'follow natural behaviours' (such as prey drive) - and kill and eat your cat.

Problem solved Smile

Tinks42 · 17/01/2015 23:40

Here we go.. its getting bizarre now.

I still hate cats shitting in my garden and will do what I need to in order to stop that.

Women liking one of the most selfish animals ever is always going to be strange to me and I do wonder why would you do that... but hey one day

Sparklingbrook · 17/01/2015 23:40

I looked after my friends dog a few weeks ago. I talk it for a walk and it pooed, and I had to deal with it. How do you ever get used to it? it was raining, dark and I was trying to hold the lead, the torch, locate the poo, triple bag my hand, grab the poo and get it in the bag using mind over matter brain techniques. Then carry the little pooey warm bag about til I found a poo bin.

The Litter Tray is so much easier. Scoop into bag and bin. Smile

This is my dog following her natural behaviour.

Rainbunny - my cats are not "precious".

And frankly, I bet your dog is more than capable of killing small animals.

I've lost count of the number of people I know who say shit like "Oh Rex is just a big soft puppy" then "Rex" growls/snaps etc.

Or possibly chases sheep and gets shot...

This one really reminds me of someone. Not sure if it's a celebrity or someone I know in real life. It is not Bobby from Home and Away.

usualsuspect333 · 17/01/2015 23:44

I don't think dogs would naturally eat cats. You don't get cat flavoured pedigree chum do you?

Morloth · 17/01/2015 23:44

Our cat is free to go outside whenever she likes (there is a cat door), but I have seen her out there, nor has she used her outdoor litter tray for a good 6 months.

She seems happy enough, we are zen the cat and I, TBH if I could get away with someone taking care of everything for me and sleep 20 hours a day I would.

She likes to play X box. Sits on the TV Stand and chases stuff on the screen. Also enjoys a game of fetch.
