WIBU to consider writing to every man in the world

To inform them all (probably leave Dh out of the round robin) that I do not want to have sex with them unless and until further formal notice from me?

As it seems that there is such confusion among so many people about the nature of consent I want to avoid putting any of them in the terribly awkward position of wondering whether simply being in the same room as them means they are invited to stick their dick in me.
So is that an unreasonable proposition?

Well, no-one is going to die or get seriously injured because of this thread, and I'm sure it will happily rattle on without me, so good day.Smile

PetulaGordino · 10/01/2015 15:02

But if you hve such a history with a poster, why would you bring them up, and refer to them rudely, on a thread that has nothing to do with them? Because it comes across as very provocative. Even if you thought it was them under a namechange, then it hardly seems like you're trying to let sleeping dogs lie

You've had several posters tell you that your posts have made them uncomfortable and that your behavior is inappropriate. .

You've gaslighted ("You've confused me with Buffy who is the real stalker").

You have been rude.

You have ignored valid points.

If women are just supposed to tell men when things make them uncomfortable and it will all magically go away (one of the many myths that was dealt with in this thread)... how do you think your total denial that your behavior could be anything less than perfect has proven that point?

Would you want to reconsider your behavior and the way it makes others feel?

TheRealAmandaClarke · 10/01/2015 15:05

Why don't you just report buffy's post pan
Or maybe, just maybe, her "fuck off" would have her post deleted and your bullshit theory about this being her domain and her picking on you unjustly would be shown up the twaddle it really is.

Oh, and I have to say, it is creepy to have someone trying to "out" you on an anonymous forum in the way you did.

The only reason I am not worried is because you were as wrong about my internet identity as you are about everything else I have seen you write here.

And stop being a fuckwit by misunderstanding the "letter"

I used to think Pan was OK!!!

I'm sending my twatradar of for re-tuning.

GallicIsCharlie · 10/01/2015 15:12
  • off, ffs!
YonicSleighdriver · 10/01/2015 15:17

Can I send mine with yours, Gallic?

I've been surprised by this thread.

OutragedFromLeeds · 10/01/2015 15:20

It's seriously disturbing and depressing how many people think rape is about sexual attraction.

These people will likely be in the pool for jury service.

It's fucking terrifying.

YonicSleighdriver · 10/01/2015 15:24

Yy. CE, for one, had no idea of the appearance of his victim before he showed up.

MaMaMarmoset · 10/01/2015 15:37

I've read many stories of women who weren't believed by friends because the rapist wouldn't have been interested. The victims wasn't pretty enough...why would he want her

YonicSleighdriver · 10/01/2015 15:40

Oh it's a popular twitter insult to women. "Shut up you ugly cunt, I wouldn't even rape you" kind of thing.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 10/01/2015 15:46

Well the victim of rape in the CE case didn't say she didn't want sex did she?
Therefore, she must, according to his defenders, have consented.

Maybe the letter is a good thing after all. I mean, what if any of us falls asleep in a hotel room?

Cunts.

EBearhug · 10/01/2015 16:14

I'm not sure most rapists give a shit about the ego or indeed any aspect of their victim's personality
Unless they're using it as a justification, because she needs bringing down a peg or two, and this will put her in her place.

kawliga · 10/01/2015 16:22

This. Maybe it's time to find some other standard other than 'consent' to decide guilt in rape cases. The idea of consent is just too complex (witness this thread) and makes people think rape is all about having sex, how enthusiastic was the sexual partner, are they attractive, what were they wearing, etc. In other crimes, e.g. assault, we don't look for consent. Maybe rape could be just like assault/gbh - if someone stabs you we don't ask whether you consented.

PetulaGordino · 10/01/2015 16:22

A v good point ebearhug, given that rape is about power

AliceInHinterland · 10/01/2015 17:23

I'm finding all those smilies after unpleasant posts a little creepy. What's that about? And OP I would be flattered - I'm sure the absolute torrent of bullshit that you've unleashed is a sign of satire well-executed. God that 1 in 5 statistic is scary, and given that probably doesn't cover sexual assault, near-misses etc, I think women are entitled to ask society in general HOW CAN WE MAKE THIS ANY CLEARER - WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR IT!! without having people patronisingly explaining that we just don't get it. We get it!!

PuffinsAreFictitious · 10/01/2015 19:36

I'm not sure most rapists give a shit about the ego or indeed any aspect of their victim's personality

Again, unless you're a lesbian, and then you only need a good fucking to 'cure' you, so you are raped....

And far too many other examples Sad

TalkingintheDark · 11/01/2015 09:51

Just staggered by the number of posters who just didn't get this. WTF? I know this is AIBU, but still...

TheRealAmanda, I think the funniest thing is the sheer number of those who seemed to think that you were actually contemplating writing a letter to every man in the world. DH and I had a good chuckle about that.

The peddling of rape myths, however, and the number of menz coming on to tell us how we should and should not speak/feel about our own experiences - almost as if they still think that they know best, fancy! - that's not so funny.

ginslinger · 11/01/2015 09:56

amanda i can send you a lovely piece of wall to bang your head against - there's a curve in it already where I've been banging mine. That's if you're not too busy writing all those letters though Grin
Great thread for updating spreadsheets

TheRealAmandaClarke · 11/01/2015 10:13

Thanks ginslinger that wall will get good use. Grin

talking i know.

Anyway, back to the letter writing.
What with me being such a hotty, its a bit of a priority.

EBearhug · 11/01/2015 10:26

Have you considered the translation costs? Despite my mother's assertions, not everyone is born speaking English. And then there are those who can't read in any language.

You might need interpretive dance or something, alongside the letters, to make sure everyone gets the message.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 11/01/2015 10:29

I haven't thought it through.
That'll teach me Grin
